A Groovy, Caribbean Duo who are Poised to Break Out

Recommended Posts

It's a brisk fall day in our nation's capital, and the smell of autumn is in the air. Tourists are flocking north to see the leaves change colors, but the locals know the best show in town is just ramping up, and it's on ice! That's right, the fire breathing hot DC Dragons have a new look this season, saying goodbye to long time captain Mikko Altonen, and welcoming stud free agent Lance Flowers, but that's not what we're focusing on today. While it's hard to pinpoint what went wrong for this star studded team last season, an easy place to look would be second line production. This season we see Xavier leFlamant moving over to Center where his sophomore line-mate and former first OA pick Groovy Dood is hoping they can finally put things together for a great season 74 campaign.

These two unlikely teammates don't have too much in common, but the connection they share is remarkable. Groovy Dood shredded through the VHLM, and was then selected 1st overall, where he immediately came up to play in the big leagues. leFlamant's path was a little different, selected all the way in the back of the 2nd round, and then taking an extra developmental year where he never really found much success. With longtime line mate Raleigh Ritchie leaving this season, Dood & X are going to have to put it into 6th year, but both look ready and willing to do exactly that.
