Anthony Suzuki 31
Every player has it own journey. It can differ for one player to the other. This is the journey of the newly acquired 6’3 Sniper for the Ottawa Lynx. Anthony was born in Montreal, Canada. A hockey city. He was always amazed of the sport. So, he decided to go and play some hockey of his own. He was always told that he would never make it in any league because he lacked skill and speed. He was a big guy for his age [12 years old]. So, he worked constantly every summer to show why he could be a star in the making. His lightning quick release got attention of many scouts around the world. He is much respected by his teammates, but there are still that one thing people keep saying about him, “You are too slow”. So, with this motivation, Anthony has his eyes set on many goals. For one, improving his skating. He has been practicing with many trainers and this will hopefully pay off for him. Second is to prove all the haters wrong and playing his heart out for the game he loves. Anthony does not only excel at hockey. He was always a triple a player in baseball. One day he even hit the longest homerun to ever be hit in baseball… 589 feet! The longest homerun to ever been hit before Anthony was Joey Meyer: “The home run was measured at a distance of 582 feet (177 m) and was hit inside Denver's Mile High Stadium.” Anthony played both hockey and baseball but gave up baseball to pursue his dream to be drafted in the VHL. Anthony is a huge Montreal Canadiens fan. He used to idolise Alexei Kovalev, Mike Cammalleri and many more. The two players mentioned above are also snipers like Anthony would like to be in the VHL. He really likes the current players on the team like a Nick Suzuki and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Suzuki’s biggest game Let us talk about what some people call “The Magical Night”. It was New Years Eve, Canada vs USA U16 Finals. Highly talented players in that game. He was on a line centered by Barrett Hayton and Florida Panthers Serron Noel. So highly talented line. Puck drops and a quick goal for US. Then not even 40 seconds later a dump in that trickles in behind Canada’s goaltender. Early 2 goal lead was not ideal for team Canada. Second period USA puts two more in early on… it is 4-0! Intermission arrives and Anthony show his character. He stands up in the dressing room and stands up and wakes the whole team up. Pumped up the boys come out strong. Suzuki feeds Hayton ... BOOM Goal, cuts it to 3. 4 minutes left to the period, powerplay Canada. Anthony snipes one! It is 4-2. Two minutes left two on one Anthony rips it top shelf again! Goalie pulled 30 seconds left, Hayton to Noel, hits the post! Hide open net SUZUKI SCORES! He does it again! 4-4! Then faceoff win for Hayton, Suzuki gets it from the blue like claps one and BOOM IT’S 5-4 CANADA WHAT A MAGICAL NIGHT! And that’s why they call it the Magical Night. 547 words, using for PT weeks Oct 4-11 DoktorFunk 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/92990-how-anthony-suzuki-made-it-to-the-vhlm/ Share on other sites
fyrefly 172
Review: All around great article. As a fellow Habs fan, I also loved Kovalev and am very excited for Suzuki and KK. Great description of your player, and I love the reference to the U16s. 9/10 Anthony Suzuki 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/92990-how-anthony-suzuki-made-it-to-the-vhlm/#findComment-786059 Share on other sites
