HJK and Bears gearing up for Playoffs!!

Seoul - Han Jae-kuk and the Seattle Bears are gearing up for what will certainly be a brutal playoff run. The Bears finished second in the North American Conference after a slow start to the season, giving them a solid position for a deep playoff run. HJK continues to receive small amounts of minutes but this should be a great learning experience for the young player. Playoff hockey is a different beast and being able to experience it during his rookie season will surely help him be more prepared later in his career when his team will be relying on him more. Speaking of playoff experience that is something this Seattle Bears team boasts a lot of. Seattle has been on a long streak of making the playoffs and most of the players on the team this year were on the team last year when they hoisted the cup. This experience could prove to be extremely valuable especially when going up against some of the younger teams who don’t quite know what to expect from playoff hockey yet. Seattle while not cup favorites are expected to go quite deep into the playoffs and a first round exit would be nothing less than an embarrassment for the organization. With these things in mind we caught up with our Korean wonder-kid to get his thoughts on everything: 

 

“Yes I am very excited to get going in the playoffs. I am a bit nervous but all the guys around me are so used to it that it really helps. These guys have been there, done that so it's like all I have to do is relax and follow their lead, you know? I know for some of these guys it's probably their last season with Seattle so we really want to win the whole thing, that’s the only thing on everyone’s mind. I know we aren't the favorites but you can never count the Bears out of the playoffs. If watching the VHL has taught me anything it's that anything can happen in the playoffs! I'm not saying that this is going to be easy, cause we know it's going to be a tough road. What I am saying is that we are ready to go to battle every single day in order to win the cup. It’s that Bears mentality, never say never. I hope that we do well and that all of my fans in Korea will do their best in cheering us on, having the fans behind us really pushes us to play even better! Go Bears!” 

 

HJK seems ready for the playoffs and going off his words it appears the rest of the team is dialed in as well. Seattle has been very successful in the playoffs for a number of seasons now so we expect them to continue that run. The Bears will get everything kicked off in a few days, until then they will be at the team facility practicing. As always we wish HJK and the Bears nothing but the best!
