Devise 4,475
The VHL regular season is almost completed and we had tons of interesting storylines that we're weaved in and out the season. The struggles of several of Riga/s prime players, and thus their own struggles. The battle for first in the European Conference between Vasteras and Davos, a battle that could take both teams to the end of the season to find out who gets the bye. The farewell tour and less than ideal season for Remy LeBeau. Seattle dealing with a transition period as they lost a few veteran pieces and acquired a few younger pieces. Calgary and Helsinki turning from basement dwellers to top teams. Cologne dealing with up and down rebuild. Quebec's fall from grace. The New York Americans dominating regular season including likely record breaking season from Tuomas Tukio and Odin Tordahls transformation into the VHL's elite scorer. That about covers the majority of the storylines, but despite the league parity being a bit less this season, we had tons of interesting things to cover. However once the regular season ends it's a whole new ballgame. Throw out the majority of the results and "facts" you may think you know about certain teams. All we know for sure right now is that Seattle and Toronto will face off in the first round of the North American conference, and Riga will face off against either Vasteras or Davos in the first round. Beyond that that playoffs could bring us any number of shocks, surprises, or even the expected. Despite a dominating season New York is only the on paper favourites to win the Continental Cup. Remy LeBeau could easily enter all star form in the playoffs again, as he did last season and carry Toronto all the way back to the finals, even to a Cup win for a second straight year. The Bears mix of youth and older players could spark at the right time and push all the way past Toronto and New York. Davos could return to form led by elite defender Matt Bentley and challenge for another championship. Riga's trade acquisitions and otherwise young roster could come together to have a groundbreaking playoffs. Vasteras could finally win another cup....okay well that is unlikely to happen, but ALMOST anything can happen. S38's playoffs are pegged to be an exciting one, and I can't wait to see what happens. Mike 708
Just sayin Riga passed Vasty in standings and if Davos lose out we would get first out of no where though that is very unlikely. Guest
Just sayin Riga passed Vasty in standings and if Davos lose out we would get first out of no where though that is very unlikely. We had to start our backup though, now it's official we are second place.
