It was quite a nice off-season after my first season with the pro.

First off, I was in Sweden with Onde Sandstrom family to take some time off. We saw him lift the cup for his team and we were really happy for him.

A couple of days later, I heard some big news from the Calgary GM which was that we were getting Patrik Tallinder, Defenz mann and a possible future lottery pick next season. I was really excited to hear this and I went straight back to America to train for the upcoming season.

I also participated in Laine off-season tourney and it was quite fun to be honest. Me and Patrik Tallinder were really good together and Askarov had some nice Ws in the tourney. We only went to the second round, but it was a nice experience to start off with.

After that, I was training privately with my coach and other people to help me take a leap for the next season. I became a lot stronger and felt 10x comfortable with the puck this year. I'm hoping that we can reach the playoff and try to make an impact in it this time.

Before the season strated, I heard news that I got selected as captain for this upcoming season. At first I diid not believe it and I was not expecting at all to even be an assistant captain. I'm happy to get the C on my chest quite early in my career, but I gotta prove it on the ice so that I feel that I deserve it.
