He was the Co-Captain of his team for his junior and senior years. His strengths are passing, skating, and defense. His weaknesses are checking and scoring. He signed with the Ottawa Lynx for the rest of the season and will be drafted to both a minors and a majors team at the end of the season. Stein will be on the 1st line for the Lynx. He was asked about his thoughts on moving from the NCAA to the VHL minor leagues. "It's definitely a jump in competition. There's a lot of talent here and I'm excited to get started." said Stein. He was asked what he brings to a team. "I think what I bring to a team is hustle, determination and sheer will. I'd like to think that I have some talent as well but I can't say that for certain until I get some experience in the league. Hopefully my passing and defense skills will be visible when I play."
