Good afternoon! I have decided to do an overview of the storylines that I am seeing so far in the Season 75 VHL season. So, without further waiting, let's go!

Close race in the North American Conference

We had the Seattle Bears start off so hot in the North American Conference to start off the year with the Calgary Wranglers training a little behind, but recently, it was absolutely the opposite as Seattle went on a little bit of a slide, losing to London (x2), Helsinki, New York, Calgary in their last 6 games. That has allowed Calgary to really boost ahead into the first spot in the division. With the top 3 teams in the division only 7 points from each other, the race is definitely going to heat up.

Top Heavy in the European Conference

Similarly to the North American Conference, the European Conference is a two team race of the top spot. We have the London United who have surprised some people to the tune of 24 goal differential and a 4 game winning streak to the top of the conference! Helsinki is right behind them with 1 point back and 1 game in hand. I think both of these teams have been really impressive this season as they really look to dominate some of the teams that have fallen to the bottom of the conference in Davos and Riga.

Groovy Dood proving why he was taken 1st overall

When Dood was taken first in the Season 73 draft, some were really surprised as there were some other big name players on the board. But, in the Season 75 season, we are looking at 45 points in 27 games and a +19 to lead the entire league in points. He has absolutely been rolling for the DC Dragons this season. He is only 22 points back from his career high with about 50 games to get there. I think it's safe to say that he will absolutely be getting there. It's been really impressive what Dood has done so far this season. It'll be interesting to see if his teammate LeFlamant or maybe Timothy Brown will be able to catch Dood.

Condor Adrienne leading the defense... again

How are you going to stop this guy? He is, once again, leading the defense in points with 32, one more than both Guy Saskamoose and Erik Killinger who are both on his heels. Condor is absolutely off his pace as he has only 32 points in the 27 games, not really coming close to his past 3 seasons of 110 points, 90 points, and 100 points. I don't think he will even touch last season with his +33 and 82 assists. Is this changing of the guards a little bit as Adrienne is in his 8th season for Malmo? Is this the time we will see someone else take over the lead? I definitely think time will tell, but he is still leading, for now.

Jacques Lafontaine's trophy to lose...

Lafontaine has been an absolute brick wall in net for Calgary this season. In hi 6th season in net for Calgary, this is absolutely going to be his best season and breakout season. Now, you may look at S72 and think.. what about that season? But, I really think this will be his best. So far, we are looking at a 16-5-2 record with a .933 Save percentage, 2.12 GAA and also 4 shutouts. I think as we go through the next 50 games, it is his trophy to lose. He has already beaten his shutouts per season number while really crushing both of the other statistics.

Here are the storylines, what do you think?

Loved the format on this writeup, great stuff... nicely highlights what teams are on top and some key stories worth following. I am trying to broaden my knowledge of the pros still, found this article very helpful. Nice job!
