Ledge 1,131
Despite Jiggs' constant threat to Spartan to bonk him if he trades picks, the Aces have managed to amass some assets that will help them with their playoff run while keeping two first round picks. They made clear that they expected to go far in the playoffs with two main trades: First, they acquired clutch scorer, capped winger, and key part of last year's Founder's Cup champions Miami Marauders, one Sheldon Juniper, from the Yukon Rush. In exchange, the Aces gave up a S77 second rounder(not this draft but next one) and prospect player entering the dispersal draft Nathan Askarov. I think the Aces come out of this one with the W because Juniper is, however inconsistent, a clutch scorer in the playoffs and will add to the Aces' area of need, forward firepower. Also, a 2nd isn't much, and Askarov is pretty much a rental as he is entering the dispersal draft after this season. The second trade was with another rebuilder, the Hounds. It saw the Aces receive capped top scorer Dan Dan and the league leader in hits taken/capped forward Jordan Tate, while giving up two rookie rentals in Jah Coon and Noah Mashford and 1st and 4th round picks for this season. Another win for the Aces imho, since Dan and Tate also add to our now above average firepower and giving up only depth pieces that would have been relegated to the 4th line anyway. I also think it works out for Coon and Mashford, too, since they now get ideal ice time with the barren Hounds. 263 words diacope, Aye my name jeff, Spartan and 1 other 4 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/96520-aces-gearing-up-for-a-cup-run/ Share on other sites
