Spaz 297
As the season is starting to come to an end, the realization that my career is coming to a sudden halt is crazy to me. It feels like yesterday I walked into the Mississauga locker room to suit up for my first game, to the day I ended up getting drafted by the Reapers, and Titan, to the first day I suited up in the blue and silver, and next week will be my last as I called it quits at the beginning of the season. As hard as it is to walk away from the VHL, I'm excited I got a call from the LA Kings as they wanted me to try out and that would be over the summer. I know it's probably a far stretch and to give up a spot where I'm guaranteed ice time, and a spot on the roster, I just think it would be a great opportunity to pass up and even if I don't make the team I plan on coaching for peewee teams where I know I can get in easy. Leaving the league will be better for me to be able to visit my family also, the NHL's off-season is longer and on top of that they have holidays off too, but even better I will be closer to my father and maybe I can get him to retire and possibly fly my mother out to the states to make it a lot easier on all of us. The downside of leaving the league is not being able to suit up with all the great teammates I had the pleasure to meet on the way, but the good thing is I will always stay in contact and possibly hang out when I have the time. The other one is leaving the Helsinki management as they have been probably the best I've played under my whole career, and I don't think I will ever play under any management that is better. From the day I walked in to the day I walked out they have always been so supportive and helped me with anything I could possibly imagine, and they have always made this feel like this was my home from the start. As the playoffs start and I help my team chase for a cup one last time, I would like to wish everyone good luck. I would also like to thank our fans for surrounding me with such a great atmosphere as you guys have been the best no matter where we play whether it's at home or on the road the support has always been crazy, and I will never forget how loud our stadium gets during a big game, or even a big play you guys are truly the best around. I would also like to thank my teammates past or present, for always making the locker room feel like home, being supportive, and just the best people I could ever ask to play on the ice with I could ever ask for better people to be surrounded by, you guys are like and will always be family to me.
