Aces start the playoffs with a bang

In the first night of the Founders Cup Playoffs, the Las Vegas Aces faced off against the Saskatoon Wild in the quarterfinals. Recent additions to the Aces had some time to gel with the team, and the newfound chemistry and firepower showed as the Aces won both games, 6-4 and 4-3. One of the leading scorers in those games was trade deadline acquisition Sheldon Juniper, who notched 2 assists and 3 points in those two games, including the game winner in the 4-3 game. Juniper proved himself last season as a clutch performer when he was a key part of the Miami Marauders' underdog run, so his sublime performance is a surprise to few. He also seems to have found good chemistry with a friend, Swedish defenceman Linus Zetterstrom, as well as his new linemates Connor Sim and Jordan Tate, the latter of whom was also a trade deadline pickup. The Aces seeemd to have gotten the chemistry they needed with the newcomers to become the eventual championship team that they hopefully will be.

Short recap of other series:

Mexico leads Halifax 2-0 in what looks to be like a non-competitive series

Philly leads Yukon 2-0 in what also looks like a blowout

San Diego leads Miami 2-0 in a believable but somewhat shocking lead
