ODE to 2020

Okay so you're sitting there wondering how on earth can 2020 get an ODE over me? Well it's no offence to anyone here (you probably are on my list of people anyways). I thought I would just stop and take a second to reflect. 2020 was a tough year for many including myself. I saw hurt, pain and loss much like a lot of people. At the same time I gained knowledge, I gained perspective and I gained the ability to say "I used to be ignorant to that, but now I have been educated by proper sources" a lot more than the past. The world saw some eye opening responses to a huge divide in social, racial and religious patterns. We saw a man pose as someone trying to help a country and claiming he knew more than science. We saw our planet showing us what would happen if we shut things down. We saw many species come back from extinction and we also saw health care workers perform under extreme pressure. To those of us that lost someone I hope you feed some peace somewhere in their story. To the members we lost because of reasons like COVID or other health concerns, we enjoy our time in their honour. So yes 2020 wasn't as planned, but we sure as hell are a resilient group and 2021 needs our strength!
