Training Camp. Day one of every VHL rookie's road to hopefully be one of the greats in VHL history. This is where you will show both your team and management exactly what they bargained for when they selected you in the draft.

 

The road from draft to the VHL was short after being selected fifth overall in the latest draft, however Welch comes in with a huge chip on his shoulder knowing that the Toronto Legion greatly showed interest in him before the draft, and that he would come into the Legion apart of a solid core of other young defenceman that the team can build around.

 

However, what was not known the Welch that today would also be the first of many rookie moments for him in the VHL.

On entrance to the locker room, all of Welch's gear seemed to have been misplaced (or in this case, deliberately hidden by someone like @fromtheinsidewho more than likely went through the same thing in last season's training camp) and instead of hockey equipment there seems to be...a Roman Legionnaire outfit?

 

"Is...is this supposed to be a joke?" comments Welch immediately.

 

"Nope, welcome to the Legion. Put on your gear, bud, first drills are starting." is heard from outside the locker room doors by an unknown voice, however the giggles are plentiful and loud enough to cause a big sigh from Kristof.

 

Of course he expected some sort of rookie hazing, but to not be able to even wear regular hockey equipment for his first drills?

 

"Welp, when in Rome I guess..."
