Peace 1,562
Toronto only got one game this sim... it seems to be a recurring pattern for us after the league expanded to sixteen teams. We've been getting the rear end of a lousy auto-generated sim schedule, and we got the lousy end of the first sim of the season. Calgary defeated us 4-2 despite Toronto playing about as good or arguably better throughout the majority of the game, but the early third period goals were the Legions' downfall. Calgary would score early in the first as well, just seventeen seconds into the game, but Toronto responded less than two minutes later with a tally of their own. Both were power play goals. By the rookies too! Welch got his first VHL point, meanwhile Kaberle scored his first career goal, with our 'one true leader' sandwiched in between with the primary assist. First period ended with Calgary leading 2-1, so at the end of a Toronto dominated second period our first line contributed into a tying goal. Oh Sens scored, Merrick got the assist, and Anigbogu registered a helper as the Legion drew even. Then two minutes into the third it was 4-2 Calgary, both goals scored by Tallinder, and Hextall gets yanked from the game. Toronto applied about an equal amount of pressure after that, and newcomer Sirkants Klamasteris stopped every shot he faced, but sadly the Legion couldn't muster another goal.
