I know it's early, but things get late pretty early around the VHL. Unless your name is the :dcd: you're probably not making a wild, streaking comeback to make the playoffs. That makes the early-mid season standings so important.

In North America, the line between the haves and have nots is clear even just 17 games in. Five teams make the playoffs, and five teams have separated from the pack already. 28, 22, 22, 20, 19 look to be playoff points kinda numbers, with 16 as a bubble team, and 12 and 9 point teams are already booking tee-off times for after the season ends. Putting names to numbers is fun, so let's see who's making the playoffs this season:

gawddammnit how do you make a table when you're writing in the forum

  1. :que: are running away with the Victory Cup with 28 points
  2. :chi: and :dcd: continue their heated rivalry from the playoffs last season as they are tied 22 points apiece for second in the conference
  3. :cal: is hot on their heels with 20 points
  4. :sea: is somehow not rebuilding this season and in in the hunt with 19 points
  5. :la:is that playoff bubble team sitting at 16 points. Expect them to overtake the Bears down the stretch and earn a spot in the play-in round

Things are just as wild across the pond, with a both a less exciting AND more exciting playoff race brewing:

  1. ::war::hel::mos: are all tied atop the conference with 24 points
  2. :prg: is hot hot hot on their heels with 23 points. One of these four tightly matched teams will have to play an extra round of the playoffs. Keep an eye on the top 4 teams as they near a photo-finish to the season

Playoff race #2 in the Euro Conference is for the coveted #5 seed. None of these teams have a chance at a wild-card bye, but one lucky winner will get a date with one of those four highly competitive teams above:

  1. :ldn: lead this pack with 14 points
  2. The rest of the conference, :dav::rig: & :mal:pull up the rear with 11 apiece. Unlike in the NA conference, every single team in EU has a chance to make the playoffs. No one is out of it yet over here!

Call your shots down below. Who's in and who's out?!

My picks: LA beats out Seattle for the final NA spot.

London and Helsinki will duke it out in the wildcard round in EU.
