Red 499
Last week I threw out the idea having a world cup full of actual countries. Since I still can't think of anything else to write about imma outline some interesting teams that could come out of the format I made up. Latvia: This is a very interesting country to me, there seems to be a ton of Latvians in the VHL and most of them including my GM in Riga are fairly prominent. Latvia's roster would be highlighted by two extremely talented players who are still in the early stages of there careers. On the backend Latvia would have Marshall James Frostbeard, a 700 TPE defenseman who is just entering his prime. In net they would also have future superstar netminder Sirkants Klamasteris. Latvia would then be rounded out by a couple notable VHLM players. Finland: Easily the most prominent country to come out of this list, Finland can easily be considered favorites if included in international competition. Headlined by one of the most prominent players in the last couple seasons in Mikko Lahtinen, Finland's roster also includes fellow superstars such as Valteri Vaakanaien, Spenser Elsby and Patrik Laine. Japan: Despite not having many players, Japan has managed to produce many talented players including Taro Tsujimoto, Emi Rune and Oh Sens. There high number of talented players can serve them well in a tournament with rosters set to 6F, 4D and 1G and could make them a good candidate to provide some shocking upsets. Sweden: Similar to there Nordic neighbors Finland. Sweden has a championship caliber roster with the likes of current VHL leading scorer Ola Vikingstad, Patrik Tallinder, Ray Shields and Luke Thornton. Sweden's Strength would be up top, as they would have the most impressive forward core out of any other nation. There defense and goaltending are also not to far behind.
