  1. Early life: Brendan Wilson is an extremely hardworking and diligent kid. Growing up in such a small town as Kimberly, with only 7000 people, didn't give Brendan much competition for hockey, in fact, they didn't even have enough players for a team. However, Brendan loved hockey so much he just couldn't bear not being on the ice, so he joined figure skating. This wasn't an ideal situation by any means, but it allowed for Brendan to develop his skating skills. He became so good at figure skating, he won regionals and medalled at provincials at the age of 11. When Brendan turned 12 his family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan. Originally Brendan continued to figure skate in Regina, but he began to be bullied by his schoolmates. Eventually, when he was 13 he began to play club hockey. As you can imagine he was a bit disadvantaged because of his lack of experience, but his amazing skating made up for it. That year he played in the third best division in Regina and could literally skate circles around everyone in his league. He spent the next couple of years perfecting his craft and playing with the best kids in the province. Pros: Skating: Due to his high-level figure skating and the abundance of ice time in his small town growing up, Brendan has exceptional skating mechanics, along with irregularly strong legs. Whatever Brendan lacks in other categories, he definitely makes up for them in this department. With a near perfect stride, forwards and backward, he also excels at pivoting, reverse pivoting, and turning. Commitment: Given his late start to hockey compared to most, Brendan had to make up for this in a relatively small time period. The only way he could do this was relentless training and countless hours of practice. Hockey IQ: Brendan is a scary smart hockey player, never going out of position and always being able to find the open man on the powerplay and breakout. Cons: Experience: Since Brendan started playing hockey at age 13 he does lack some fundamental instinct, which is being built while he plays. Shooting: Possibly the weakest part of Brendan's game is his shot, as reflected by the minimal amount of goals he scores, however, he sets up a ton of plays and lead his minor league in assists. Size: Although he is a steller 5'11'', he is a bit undersized for a defenseman. He has room on his frame to pack on at least 15 lbs of muscle/
