Hold out for Riga imo.

It's been a weird playoffs for Ottawa Lynx captain Brennan McQueen so far. As we already recapped he had no points in game one against the Wild but then exploded for 4 goals and 1 assist in game two. The same continued as the Ottawa and Saskatoon faced off for two more games in the playoffs. McQueen failed to register a point in game three which ended up being a loss for the Lynx but then went ahead and scored 3 goals in game four, including the game winner in overtime which gave the team a 3-1 series lead. That puts Brennan at 7 goals and 1 assists in just 4 games including 2 hat tricks and 2 game winners. If McQueen could somehow do this every single game the Lynx would be on their easy way to a cup. It helps playing with such an all-star lineup though with the never ending scorer Jeevan Samuelsson and even Conner Low has been amazing on the back end for the Lynx and has 3 goals and 13 points in in just the 4 games. Ottawa was the clear favourite since the start of the season and so far they are showing why even though the Wild are putting up a bit more of a fight than expected led by Xin Xie Xiao. Look for the Lynx to close out the series as soon as possible.

After sitting out for a round, the Lynx were stoked to face off against the Saskatoon Wild after they pulled off the upset against the Gladiators. Maybe most pumped was captain of Ottawa, Brennan McQueen. After what he considered a poor season as a second year VHLMer, he picked up his game after being paired with Gow and Samuelsson. McQueen would look to start a hopeful strong playoff rush and maybe go for MVP after losing out on what he thought he had the best chance for the best two-way forward. McQueen would be facing off against who he thinks won the TWF award XXX. He had an outstanding season offensively and is a big bodied powerforward just like McQueen. In game one McQueen set his eyes on showing the other team who was boss and laid out a huge 14 hits just in that game! It was a close game though and the Lynx squeaked out with a win in overtime on a goal by Matt Rielly. In the second game McQueen decided to show his offensive touch and he potted 4 goals and an assist to go with that. After not playing in round one and just two games so far, Brennan is already all over the leaderboards. There's still a long ways to go and the Wild are a strong team but a 2-0 series lead is a good start. Hopefully McQueen can keep up the play and aim towards a Cup before he graduates to the VHL next season.

Overall it was an extremely quiet deadline with only two trades being made. Brennan McQueen was shipped out of Seattle to Riga for Edwin Encarnacion. Both were selected in the S35 draft, one being a forward and one being a defender. Encarnacion was selected higher but as it stands right now, McQueen seems to have passed him in development. With a team that is stacked on defense, why would Seattle trade out one of their promising forward prospects? Rumour has it that there were some complications in contract talk which even started last year right when McQueen was drafted. For that the GM decided that it be better off if they get rid of him instead of having problems. Now Brennan McQueen is the starting piece to the big rebuild in Riga. You can tell that with his time in the VHLM, he is excited to get a start in the VHL at last. McQueen has stated before that he wants to play for one franchise his whole career, and since he never actually suited up for the Bears, the Reign may be that team.
