1. I have played for three teams in the VHL over two players and they've all been great! Hard to choose but spent the most time in Vancouver. 2. Yes hockey is my main sport, watch and play but also love the sim aspect. 3. I'm very excited, hope to win a championship! -- Questions: 1. Will the Leafs win game 7? 2. Who's your pick for the Stanley Cup? 3. Who's your pick for the VHL or VHLM Cup?

New York Americans hulking defenseman Guntis Gavilrovs took home more hardware this week as he won the Season 98 Sterling Labatte Trophy for Top Defenseman and the Alexander Valiq Trophy for Best Offensive Defenseman! Amazingly this marks back-to-back seasons Gavilrovs has won the Labatte and Valiq trophies, a pretty special achievement as he seems to be cementing his place in VHL history. He was also nominated for the Jake Wylde trophy which marks the second straight year he was nominated for all three defenseman awards! He was even named to the 1st Team All-Stars! It's been a truly special run for Gavilrovs over the last few seasons, now with 5 VHL Awards and a Continental Cup while playing for two different teams. He's managed to build up quite a resume and owes a lot to his great teammates and GM's, he's very appreciative of everyone, so thank you all. He's not done yet though as he comes into season 99 with a great build and is part of another strong team in New York! Gavilrovs should be in line for another good statistical season on the blue line but his main goal is to win a championship with the Americans. That's the most coveted award in the league and he hopes to win it with his new teammates before he hangs it up in a couple seasons. Let's Go!

1. For me it's hard to say who's done best until I see how the teams click and perform this season, but I like the moves NY made. 2. I think Vancouver did well picking up two strong players in the top 5. 3. I'd be Paul Skenes, I don't think I need to explain why --- Questions: 1. What is your player doing during the off-season to either stay sharp or relax? 2. What's your favorite all-time hockey player name? 3. What are you hopes for you player next season, stats etc?

It was an exciting first season in New York for defenseman Guntis Gavilrovs as he played a big role in helping the Americans to a deep playoff run. The team reached the conference finals playing 14 games where Gavilrovs had 16 points to go with 48 hits and 33 blocks. Eventually New York lost to Calgary who ended up winning the championship, it was a good series so there's no question NY is close and with a few bounces could win it all next season. Lots of stars throughout the line up in season 98 like Janser, Richmond, Amish, Anisimov and others who all posted great seasons and Guntis became more and more comfortable playing with as the season went on. Gavilrovs ended up finishing the reg season with 25 goals, 64 assists, 89 points, 229 hits, 133 blocks, 193 pims, 10 powerplay goals and 3 players checked into the stands. Pretty great season overall and he could even be in the running for an award or two if he's lucky. Gavilrovs re-signed for next season (99) with New York and he hopes they can build on the great year they had in 98. Looks like management has made some key moves this off-season already as the Americans make another big push for the cup in 99. We like their chances!

1. I'd like to see blue and chartreuse, I think it's a great scheme 2. Gretzky because greatest player of all time so in absolute prime he would be unstoppable 3. We won a championship in travel hockey at age 12, it was amazing -- Questions: 1. Did you watch the dallas colorado game 7? what are your thoughts 2. How about the Winnipeg St.Louis game 7? 3. What brand hockey stick does your player use?

1. It's possible but I don't think will happen, so I will go with No. 2. Yes definitely, anything can happen and if the coach pulls the right string can win 3 in a row. 3. I do actually, would be fun to play another couple seasons with this player. Questions: 1. Any NHL playoff surprises so far? 2. Is your VHL/M team still in it, if yes what are your stats, if no are you paying attention to who's winning? 3. Where should the next NHL expansion franchise be?

NY Americans defenseman Guntis Gavilrovs just finished a fantastic 72 game season that saw him tied for #1 in points by a defenseman going into the last sim to ultimately finish tied for 2nd with former teammate and Bollos de Trueno with an astounding 89 points. Guntis had 25 goals, 64 assists, 229 hits and 136 blocks on the year, another excellent season that should hopefully have in in the conversation for some awards again. More importantly the NY Americans made the playoffs in the #4 spot and would face Guntis former team Vancouver in round 1! A well-played series by both sides that saw Guntis' new team New York overcome Vancouver in 4 games but it was much closer than that final score appears. Three of the games were decided by 1 goal and two needed overtime, it was really a great series and he has nothing but respect for his former team and teammates. In the 4 games Guntis had 6 assists to lead the team in points and added 18 hits, 15 shots and 7 blocks. Most amazing though is he somehow lost a fight to some mope named Tim Robinson, despite all his success he is very ashamed of this and will carry a huge grudge going into next season. Will be interesting to see the first time NY and VAN play next year! Next up for the NY Americans in Toronto, which should be another great series. If Gavilrovs can keep up his strong play we could see NY upset the #1 seed. We like their chances!

1. Maybe not a true underdog but I think NY Americans can win it all this season! Talent in all areas. 2. Toronto because they are always an underdog with that curse despite their reg season performance 3. The ice girls, of course! But for real probably some type of hose and long bar device with a squeegee -- Questions: 1. Did your VHL team make the playoffs, how do you think you'll do? 2. Will anyone currently in the NHL break Ovechkins goals record? Who? 3. What did you eat for dinner?
-
1. Usually Seattle, no real reason besides they were a big rival of my last team Vancouver and we didn't like them 2. I think I would go D again because I've really enjoyed this player and would like the role I play on the team 3. I think Washington is primed for an upset, I still can't believe how much they improved since last season with minimal big moves. Questions: 1. How did you player do this season, tell us your stats! 2. Will you make any build adjustments for playoffs (if you made it) or will you stand pat. If you didn't make it whats your off-season plan 3. Who is your pick for the Stanley Cup this season and why?
