  1. Hah this is great!
  2. Last seasons defenseman of the year Guntis Gavilrovs exploded recently with a 4 goal game against Helsinki and is now up to 15 goals on the season. Gavilrovs leads all Defenseman in goals again this season with the 15 and has added 29 assists, good for 44 points in 38 games. Another great season for Gavilrovs this time with his new team in New York where he is currently 2nd in team scoring. Adding 129 hits and 68 blocks he's turning in another well rounded campaign, albeit slightly off his award winning pace from last season but a lot of time left to get even hotter. The Americans are playing some great hockey lately, they even had three straight shutouts this week! They are 6-2-2 in their last 10 including 4 wins in a row that resulted in them passing the Seattle Bears and more importantly the Vancouver Wolves who are actually a pretty good team. Things are clicking in New York right now and they are up to 3rd in the conference looking like a real threat to make some noise in the playoffs this season. Lots of New York players are playing well right now, Ol Doinks has been on fire lately and Janser, Richmond, Reynolds, Anisimov are posting great numbers also. This is a very strong group and if Gavilrovs can continue his pace or even improve on it we could see the Americans go deep in the post season this year!
  3. 1. I enjoy a nice Guiness, I'm not really into hard alcohol, but don't mind a rum and coke. 2. Great movie lol, sadly it may be a glimpse of our future if some things don't change 3. My player needs a size 15. I need a 10.5 skate. Questions: 1. Who's your pick for the Stanley Cup this year? 2. Better rookie season in NHL, Lane Hutson or Matvei Michkov? 3. French fries or Onion rings?
  4. Twenty two games into the season and his first in New York Guntis Gavilrovs is off to a great start with 25 points, 8 goals, 90 hits and 47 blocks! Strong numbers for last years best defenseman award winner but not quite on the same pace as his triple award season from a year ago. As Guntis gets more comfortable he may be able to increase his current pace and get back into the top scoring Dmen of the league, but already being over a point per game is fantastic with his new team. New York has had an up and down season so far, hot start then a skid then hot again, currently 9-9-4 good for 5th in the division they will need to pick up the pace in order to stay in the race, but are certainly looking like a playoff team. They could use a little puck luck and we expect they will get some here soon. Guntis is happy in NYC, great teammates and coaches and he's confident the group can play more consistent as we get into the main part of the season. He is still threatening to run Vancouver goalie Soju next time they play and is not scared of the threats made against him by former teammates Bollos de Trueno and Logan Ninefingers if he does. New York doesn't play Vancouver again for a while, so we'll see if tempers cool by then..
  5. 1. There's a lot good ones, I love the teams I've played for (Van/War/NY) and always thought Helsinki was a classic 2. My first player was a pure goal scoring forward, my current player is a physical offensive defenseman 3. Water, but soda is delicious. Questions: 1. How is your team and player doing so far this season? 2. What's better NCAA Hockey playoffs or March Madness? 3. If you could have made it pro, what would have been your sport?
  6. Great write up!
  7. S97 Defenseman of the year Guntis Gavilrovs is off to a great start for his new team the NY Americans. Through 9 games Guntis has 12 points, including 4 goals, 35 hits and 20 blocks! He's on pace for another potentially award-winning season but thinks he can still improve on these numbers as he settles into his new role, city and team. The Americans have started pretty well with a current record of 5-4 which has them 4th in the conference 1 spot ahead of Guntis former team the Vancouver Wolves, so that's been nice to see. The Wolves in the post-Gavilrovs era had a rough start going 0-5 without Guntis roaming the blue line as it's proving to be a big loss for the franchise, but they picked up 3 wins in a row including a win against NY last game so things are looking up for his old team and he wishes them well. Gavilrovs return to Vancouver was much hyped and there was speculation he may drop the gloves with some beloved teammates but the game was pretty uneventful with no major penalties. However a 6-2 loss does not sit well with Gavilrovs and he has vowed to "run" goalie Soju next time they play so it should be exciting to see how that one plays out. We don't expect running the goalie will set well with Logan Ninefingers so watch for some potential fireworks next time New York plays Vancouver. Gavilrovs and fellow award winning blueliner Callum Gary Yanick Janser are proving to be tough to play against as expected and Janser is off to a great start of his own with 13 points, 38 hits and 15 blocks so far. With one of these two superstar defenseman on the ice at all times in NY it should be a big season for the Americans.
  8. 1. Most recent thing I watched was Mind Hunter on netlix, it was real good. 2. Pretty good so far, team is currently in playoffs and I have over a ppg. 3. Not sure if there is one but maybe MMA or Boxing Questions: 1. Weather is getting a little warmer, what are you looking fwd to about spring? 2. How is your player and team doing so far this season? 3. I you could sleep with one celebrity who would it be right now or in history?
