  1. Over the last few weeks, we have seen Maxime Perron slow down his excellent play in the VHLM, coming back down to Earth, while the rest of the team soars away from him. After starting the season playing an average of 28 minutes a game, Perron's playing time has been slashed almost in half, leading him to play 23 minutes per game average over the entire season to this day. This slash has been due to his inability to put the puck in the net, and obvious frustration has set in.

His entire life Perron has been at the top of his class in his ability, and his recent troubles on the ice have led to some sloppy plays and blown assignments that has his coach and GM livid. Failure has never been an option for Perron, and he is not giving up on making himself better and trying to pull himself out of this slide.

Expect more out of Perron as the season comes to a close. He is hoping to catch the eye of GM's going into the playoffs, and expects to work his way into the top 5 in the draft.

  2. On a most recent flight to Europe to play a series against the European Conference in the VHLM the team playing out of Brampton, Ontario got to relax. The most dominate team of the season, no one could stop them. Goaltender Coca Cola was playing stellar hockey, and recent acquisitions of new blood was instilling more life into the team, even after moving out their top scorer.

So Perron sat back and thought. The plane had finished its take off and for the next 12 hours they were at cruising altitude. And that's almost like the young stars career right now. He is getting noticed and significantly better just by association every game. Many players would take this as an opportunity to coast, to cruise along in their game, but not Perron. Every day he is at the gym, making himself work harder because he wants to be the best on this very good team. He wants to be the first name called at the upcoming draft, and he knows that he can't do that by just finding a height on his flight and leveling off.

While his teammates chatted and played games on the plane, Perron just sat back trying to take a small nap. But he couldn't. Too many thoughts of his career were going through his head

    Brampton Blades Team Profile

    GM: tfong

    Captain: Golden Jedtsson

    Assistant Captain: Maxime Perron

    Assistant Captain: Valentin Taneyev

The Brampton Blades -- a team competing in the VHLM -- are heavily considered the favourites to win it all this season. After their first 26 games they are 24-2, and look to be unstoppable. But the question it, despite losing two amazing players in Bronson Faux and E'Twaun Delicious, how are they still able to be the top team night after night, and be favourites yet again? Well we look deeper into what makes this team tick.

    Offense

Offense seems to be a dominant force for Brampton -- but the question really is, what isn't? -- as they are leading the league in Goals For with 133, up on Bern who have 117. The offense is driven by forward superstar Sam Teibert, who currently leads the league in points with 72 in 26 games. An incredible number by any standards, but keep in mind that this is a kid who is seemingly unnoticed and under the radar usually. Not this season, as he is decimating his teammates, as the next closest player has 58 points, and everyone else in the league. And a player on D that has brought some incredible offense to the Blades is captain Golden Jedtsson who currently sits 9th in points with 45 points thus far. He hasn't been killing the stat sheet in goals, however his 38 assists in 26 games is extremely impressive, and people have taken notice. He is considered a definite shoe-in to be playing VHL games next season, and he is going out in his last season in Brampton with a bang. And bringing up a great amount of points in highly touted rookie Maxime Perron. Currently with 20 goals and 20 assists, Perron has not been afraid of taking his place on the team by force. He is showing all other rookies how you work your way onto a team, and is currently second in rookie scoring. The GM has had nothing but high praises to say for the young Frenchman, and has named him assistant captain for the season.

    Defense

We mentioned defender and captain Golden Jedtsson earlier. Well that is because he has been absolutely incredible in the VHLM so far this season as he sits 3rd in defensemen in points. But his offense isn't only what is being marveled. He is currently a +37, one of the best in the league, and has the lead on the team in shots blocked with 29. He is leading the charge on a backend that is a little bare for the Blades. Their lackluster defense is carried by the acquisition of goalie Coca Cola from Oslo. When in Oslo to start the season, Cola recorded an 0-6 record with a 3.01 GAA. Everyone was aware he needed out of that situation, as he posted an impressive .927 SV% and was keeping games at least close for the terrible Oslo team (who are currently 3-21). Since coming to Brampton he has gone 19-1 with a 1.39 GAA, and a .925 SV%. This incredible turn around has people singing the goaltenders praises and he has kept Brampton to a league low 40 goals against on the season. Only 28 of those are Cola's in 20 games, while their backup goalie let in 12 of the 40 in his first 6 games. This just further proves Cola's dominance, and the team would be that much further ahead if they had acquired him before the season had started.

    Wrap-Up

Look out for a back-to-back championship by Brampton. They are dominating the league from both an offense and defense standpoint, and aren't going to ever go down in a game without a fight. With goalie Coca Cola in net, forwards Teibert, Taneyev, Wilcox, and Perron up front, and captain Jedtsson manning the point, this team is unstoppable. General Manager tfong has put together an incredible team again this season, and the fans can't get enough of it

  4. Brampton, ON -- Maxime Perron has started the season with a team that is playing great. Coming off a huge cup win, the Brampton Blades lost two of their most important players, but are rebounding to a very impressive start that many did not see coming. This is very much thanks to the acquisition of goaltender Coca Cola, and the play of rookie Maxime Perron.

After the first 26 games of the VHLM season Brampton is sitting comfortably, getting incredible scoring from their players. Captain Jedtsson currently sits 9th in points, while Teibert is holding on to top spot with an astounding 72 points in 29 games. But the most impressive thing is newcomer Maxime Perron who has tallied 40 points in 26 games thus far, good for 2nd out of all Season 44 eligible draftees. Many did not expect this out of the Frenchman, and he mostly flew under the radar going into the draft. R Truth, a forward selected one pick before the French phenom is sitting at only 16 points this season, which is 24 short of hitting Perron's numbers.

We said it once and we will keep saying it. Steal of the VHLM draft. But we will ask one very important question about all of this. This still counts as Sunday right, because it's not midnight here yet :cry3:
