banko reacted to Elmebeck in (VHLM) Despite good start to season, Houston locker room in trouble. Elmebeck in row with Wilcox!
(RW) @Dalton Wilcox has gone out to say in a post game interview that his underperforming to a large part can be blamed on teammate (2D) Fredrik Elmebeck, and the vocal critique of Wilcox' performance that Elmebeck has voiced.

"Even as I scored the 2-1 game winning goal tonight against Saskatoon he chirped at me, 'Even a Wilcox sometimes finds a grain of corn', he chided in a mocking tone, and it's frankly not acceptable.", Wilcox said after the game.

When contacted over phone Elmebeck had this to say, "Wilcox, simply, is too weak, tries too little and has had too much handed to him in life. Now's the time to stop taking talent for granted and actually work for something, and I don't see Dalton doing that. Until he starts working like the rest of the team he won't get any respect from me."

GM @FrostBeard declined to comment immediately.

Wilcox currently has 5 goals and 6 assists in 13 games, trailing @Sixersfan549 by 6 points on the team.
Elmebeck, a second line defenceman and a future prospect has 4 points and +/- 10.

Houston Bulls already have two more wins - and are only four points away from performing over last season's result. Whether this locker room row will affect future games remains to be seen.

banko got a reaction from FrostBeard in Mulleto found his new home
As one of Houston Bull’s fresh waiver claims Mulleto had a lot of pressure on him. Given first pairing minutes directly from the start can make an old alcoholic’s mind race, but thanks to a professional welcome from the organization and a GM that believes in him, Mulleto has started to do so himself. 4 assists and -1 in 5 games may not sound like much, but Mulleto has never been a point per game player. Is that about to change?

The new found faith in himself has made Banko Mulleto work much harder in practice and the gym. When he arrived at the Bulls training facility he looked a bit out of shape (he was shaped like a pear to be honest), but all those squats and dieting has done wonders to his fruit formed vessel. He already has 19 hits in 5 games which more than you can expect from someone with his strength. Hopefully his hours in the gym makes his hits hurt the opponents even more.

If Banko Mulleto stays on the first line the future looks bright for both the Houston Bulls and himself. He could be on of this season’s best waiver pickups.

banko got a reaction from FrostBeard in (S67) D - Banko Mulleto, TPE: 30
    Accepted!

Glad to be onboard this promising team. I had an unofficial offer from Minnesota Storm, but it never got realized by their GM. So during that time Bulls gave me a generous offer of first time minutes that I couldn't say no to. I understand if Minnesota is pissed, but business is business.

banko got a reaction from FakeJenton in Rookie profile: Banko Mulleto [1/2]
    Name: Banko “Minor Magic” Mulleto
    Age: 31
    Hometown: Oxelösund, Sweden
    Position: Defenseman
    Height:  75 in.
    Weight:  216 lbs

Banko Mulleto is making a comeback in hockey after a 3 year hiatus. Mr Mulleto retired a few years ago after the birth of his daughter Bank-Oh-La-La. Hockey didn’t generate enough money to be able to afford the cost of a child nor the accelerating drinking problem of Banko. He had a successful time in his hometown hockey team “The Oxelösund Sirens”, but his drinking and lack of motivation stopped him from any real success in the high tier leagues of Sweden. Now sober and more motivated than ever Banko is trying his best to succeed in the minor leagues of the VHL. His age might be a problem, but his playing style has never been dependent on his physical skills. And how can you not succeed with that beautiful curly mullet?

    PROS

Defensive awareness: “Minor Magic” was never a point per game player or a big threat in the offensive zone. He lacked some of the confidence to really be creative. However whenever Banko Mulleto was on the ice you knew the other team would have a hard time scoring because of Banko’s elite positioning in the defensive zone.

Passing: Thanks to Banko’s postioning and eye for the game he rarely loses the puck and can pass himself out of the worst situations.

Loyalty: He never left his hometown team even when they were degraded in 2012. He stayed with them for over 8 years. Rumors about offers from other (better) teams were heard, but Banko stayed. Was it entirely out of loyalty or did he just not dare to chase his dream of being a professional hockey player?

Locker room leader: He was greatly appreciated in his old team. He was great at making the players around him feel better and play better.

His hair: All the B vitamins from drinking beer has done wonders to his hair. Hair looks like prime Jagr material.

    CONS

Lack of confidence: It’s hard to say how good Mulleto is/were. Sometimes he could be brilliant, sometimes he looked drunk (which in hindsight probably was true). Who knows what years of mindfulness exercises has done to his mind? Is he a new man? Will he live up to his potential?

A bit chubby: Too be honest, Banko isn’t as fit as he could be. A few more squats might change this.

Mediocre shot: Banko is never going to be a powerplay quarterback. His shot is precise, but lacks the power to be a real threat from the blue line.

    Summary

A man with great potential. Had great success despite personal issues in the low tier leagues of Sweden. Does this aging man have enough time to live up to his potential? What is his ceiling? He understands the game like few others, but will his body be able to handle the physical action? If he can find his confidence, work on his crappy shot and get fit the sky is the limit to this Swedish gem.
