  1. Last weekend, for the 4th year in a row, I entered a team in Fredericton’s 48 Hour Film competition. The point is to basically write, shoot, and edit a short film in under 48 hours which we once again successfully did.

    To make a long story short the competition is in it’s last stage which is the online viewer’s choice awards. It would be kind awesome if you guys could help me out with this one by going to this site:

    http://woobox.com/4sukjv/vote/for/1568574

    and voting for my film. It should link directly to it but if not you’re looking for Required Readings. You can only vote once (maybe once per day, not sure yet) but you don’t have to sign up or anything so it’s literally just click the link and click vote.

    By all means you don’t have to vote for mine, or even at all, but I would really appreciate it if you did. Plus you can check out any of the films on the page, most of which are pretty well made so that’s always enjoyable.

    Alright, shameless self promotion done haha.

  2. He has been my go to guy since 2008.

    No dice in this case, I’m only good for mac versions. Besides, I’m pretty much out of luck on new ones since they switched over the Adobe CC and my crack is for CS6 and depended on getting the trial.

  3. Any status update on the implementation of this skin?

    Been pretty busy and pretty sure Kora is in a similar boat. Getting things coming along on the more basic stuff but the advanced things (namely the top section) will take a lot more work than usual because of how IBP codes things. It's much better than SMF but gives much less control over the wrappers than Invisionfree which is great for people buying skins but not so great for people trying to make their own.

  4. Wanna PM me a link to the site and I'll see what it's doing?

    Two things strike me immediately but don't seem to fit the bill as the problem.

    First, your image is likely way too small to be an effective background. Then again, I don't recall exactly how large mine was, I might have just filled the empty space with a color. I do think the size is off though.

    Second, photobucket is notoriously bad for giving direct links to images which skin design requires. I would either host skin images directly on the site or using something like tinypic that's better for giving straight image links.

  5. Just posting this so I can see them side by side, feel free to ignore it right now.

    MINE:

    BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 11px;
    color: #000;
    margin:20px 10px 20px 10px;
    background-color:#73b8d4;
    background-image: url(http://www.sportzin.com/forums/uploads/images/1340988573-U12444.png);
    background-position: top center;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-attachment: fixed; }

    YOURS:

    BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 11px;
    color: #000;
    margin:20px 10px 20px 10px;
    background-color:#73b8d4;
    background-image: url(http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss222/Bushito/Hockeyleague.png);
    background-position: top center;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-attachment: fixed; }

  6. Done all of the above. A few things of interest that I noted.

    1) Especially for Kesler here. There seems to be a feature in IPB for setting an open and close time on a topic. Could be useful as you could, in theory (I haven't tested) set up like a month's worth of practice facilities at a time and set them to open / close at the proper times. Effectively automate the process instead of having to manually do it every time.

    2) Forum moderators get a shit-ton of options that they never got on invisionfree such as changing if things are answered or not, seeing deleted content, etc. Just thought it was interesting.

    Keep the requests coming guys. I'm sure I didn't get everyone yet but can't really go through the forum and find every one that needs to be done either.

  7. I don't remember the exact line of code needed for that. I believe it's "background-attachment: fixed"

    I know the wording of the variable is fixed but I don't recall the actual code. Do you see anything similar to that in the CSS?

    Edit: Went and looked at the code, what do you know, I was right haha. It all has to do with the abse body tag. In the case of the VFL skin it looks like this:

    BODY { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif;
    font-size: 11px;
    color: #000;
    margin:20px 10px 20px 10px;
    background-color:#73b8d4;
    background-image: url(http://www.sportzin.com/forums/uploads/images/1340988573-U12444.png);
    background-position: top center;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-attachment: fixed; }

    Of course all that shouldn't need to be separated. I just did that to make it a little easier to look at.

  8. VHL_Skin Doesn't have it either and that's the one I'm mostly working on since I ran into a formatting issue on test2. I've actually ignored putting the chat on so far because it gets in the way of some formatting things but it will end up being added onto whatever skin we officially run.

  9. Indeed, TGF did it cause I got him to do a similar design on MFA.

    And by similar you mean take the same design and change like 3 colors :P

    But yes, the VFL skin I did. What exactly are you having trouble with BG wise? Not gonna lie, the BG was the trickiest part of that entire skin. Rounding was a bit of an issue but easy enough to fix.

  10. Just popping this in as a list of settings that I've changed so that they can be tested by the board and so that everyone knows what's being done. I'll add to the list as I go but if you're willing to test out something eel free to reply and either I'll PM you instructions or you can just do it yourself, depending what it is.

    First change falls under the latter category:

    • With the exception of global mods and commishes no one should be able to remove the "edited by" line from posts when an edit is made.

    Someone wanna edit a post and test this for me?

  11. Since you are clearly better at this than me, can you tell if there's a way to make a Forum Led By: tag for team forums?

    It appears this tag still exists but it got moved in the newest version off of the home page and into the forum itself. For example, if you go into the point task forum and look in the bottom right corner you'll see "Forum Led by Group: Graders. Probably the best we're going to get.

    Anyway, gonna start working on these now so if you need mod powers get the requests in.

  12. Kesler is funny mad, kid will soon ask for a trade because he doesnt think its any of his fault. By the way he sucks at defence

    In the interest of fairness I never added to any defensive stats aside from discipline with Beketov and I'm in the HoF. At the same time though, it was a very different time. People are putting up such high TPE numbers now that just playing offence doesn't really work anymore.

  13. It was more of a reference to how Jason White sort of "randomly" had that one unreal season.  Chekhov is still really young and compared to guys like LeBeau and Labatte who literally have everything except Experience maxed, it's funny how he's doing as good/better than them.

    But yes, I realized 8 games is a tiny sample size and everything will be different by season's end.  I was just bored and having fun.

    Makes sense. I would certainly enjoy another White-like season haha. No idea where that season came from but I certainly enjoyed it.

    I imagine by the 20 game mark or so everything goalie wise will be straightened out to what people expect.

  14. This is the 3rd goalie I've made yet you chose to put my "nickname" as one of my skaters?

    Also, not to try and bring myself down but just being honest, my stats are probably a bit inflated from pretty much all my games being against Seattle.

  15. I just made a post in the wrong section for this I guess but repost anyway.  I think GMs are lacking some power in their own LR and I'm not sure that we can add players to our own LR anymore like before.  Also I don't even have the power to go back and edit my old posts if an admin has locked the thread for instance Riga retired jersey numbers.

    Invision doesn't have the ability for GM's to give permissions unfortunately. The only way would be to give GM's admin access to only the permission section but that could be abused because they could give anyone any permission. It's unfortunate but it's a sacrifice we'll have to make.

    As for your mod powers I've added it to my list. These will likely get done tomorrow unless I get down time at work tonight.

  16. Since you are clearly better at this than me, can you tell if there's a way to make a Forum Led By: tag for team forums?

    I assumed they would go in automatically like they do on invisionfree but it doesn't seem to be the case. I'll look into it but if there isn't one we could always just put it in the description ourselves.

    At the same time, we need an edit time and date indicator.

    If this is the same as invisionfree it should be in the settings, I'll take a look at them. Victor is right about the one commishes have but chances are not everyone has that.

    Not mod powers, but I need access to Oslo LR, as I am on Oslo.

    There's a different topic for that located HERE

    If I could have mod powers for the Player Store section that would be great! :)

    Not to sound rude, just don't recognize the name, who are you?

    Graders need the ability to lock topics in the appropriate section of the forum.

    Already did that one. If any specific graders are having trouble feel free to direct them here though.
