  1. 1. NOODLES! 2. Boo sports games 3. Don't really have one. 4. Dots 5. Why not both? 6. Just stay chill and keep getting points for your player. It's all good, we just having fun.
  2. During a discussion about his involvement in a youth center program for hockey, Michael Fletcher was asked about his feelings on several hockey related topics. Below are some quotes from that interview: When asked about his thoughts on the playoffs, splitting starting time with Hasek, and the draft: “Honestly haven’t really looked. I know we’re out of it and I know it’s going to be a longer offseason, especially with the split in goal now but that’s what it is. I can’t say I’m happy about any of it but that’s what it is. Good luck to the teams going on to the playoffs in a few weeks here and as for the draft, it’s an unknown right now. We’ll see where everything falls.” When asked if there were any differences between what he expected versus how the season has turned out: “I’m not happy to be fair. I know we’re in a league with a lot of great players but I felt initially that I wasn’t going to penalized for not being an active member of Discord and honestly after a couple weeks I had already sorta lost the starting job to the new guy. I realize statistically it’s been a rough season but you look at my actual play, there’s a lot there to work with we just haven’t found the right combination. I’ll be rooting for Dommy to get some wins, it’s just a tough situation to be in.” When asked about where he’d like to go in the draft: “It doesn’t really matter to me. I’ll always want to help Moose out so that’ll always be in the back pocket as a first choice but I know I could go anywhere. And Moose will take care of me, he offered to move me if he could and I said I would stay in San Diego. If I’m going to stay in San Diego though I really want a team here. I knew what this season would be but I’d like the effort to mean more than 30+ losses next year. But that’s on Moose and the GM.”
  3. Michael Fletcher returned to the net this past week following a 4-game stint as backup for the Marlins. It was initially thought that Fletcher had lost the starting job to fellow waiver goaltender Dommy Hasek but that appears to not be the case. We can now confirm that Fletcher has spent much of the last two weeks working with a local youth center near the Grant Hill area of San Diego. “The aim is to bring more inner-city kids into hockey. Hockey is a great sport that should be accessible to everyone. I want to let young minds know that this sport is for everyone and we’ve put together kits that include sticks, pucks, balls, even some jerseys for this youth group. Right now, we’ve got about 30 kids signed up and the plan is to launch a program that’ll help teach kids to skate and shoot and some of the basics of how to play the game. I’m excited to be a small part of this and I hope it stays around for years to come.” – Michael Fletcher on the program. A longtime friend of Fletcher, Kevin King has said Fletcher has had a commitment to inner-city youth for a long time and, “he has bright ideas on the future of equality and togetherness in sports that is hard to match but always inspiring.” King also said that he isn’t surprised by the move and part of why Fletcher is a Marlin and was recruited to the VHL is because of what a good character guy Michael Fletcher is. A further dive into the program describes it as a fun, all inclusive, community driven initiative. Kids will come to the youth center, where they can sign up for free classes. They then come back twice a week for 8 weeks to take basic training sessions on how the game is played, and upon a ‘graduation ceremony” the kids are rewarded with their own pair of sticks, pucks, balls, and some specialty items courtesy of the youth center and Fletcher himself. Stephanie Tomebell, owner of the youth center running the program has said that if the program can generate enough interest that there’s possibility of creating a small youth league for the community. Fletcher was also asked about his time in San Diego and thoughts on the upcoming playoffs, his split with Hasek in net, and draft: “Honestly haven’t really looked. We’ll see where everything falls.” Michael Fletcher has asked that we check back in towards the end of the playoffs for an update on the youth center and other commitments he’s made to projects.
  4. Il1. I'm happy there isn't a lot of pressure to be chatty. I get super busy and often you get left out of games because of that. 2. Starting Goalie. 3. Leadership. 4. I like DC logo. 5. Feta cheese. Yeee 6. Call of Duty, Red Dead 2, Minecraft.
  5. Hello VHL my name is Dragon. Thank you for welcoming me to the league. Moose said a good way to get an easy thing out is to introduce yourself. I’m from Michigan, when I’m not working, I like to play games and stream with my friends. We have a group called Stoners 421 and you can check us out (WhiteFire Radio or WhiteFire Radio 421). I love smoking, weed is a passion of mine. I’m actually working towards becoming a grower as Michigan has legalized it I want to make that my career because I believe it helps a lot of people in so many ways. I’m not really a sports fan but I’ll watch hockey occasionally. Moose is way more of a fanatic than I am but you guys probably know that by now. I’m just chill, not really competitive. I mostly just chat and chill with my peoples and that’s it. I joined the league to help Moosage out. I’m sorry I’m not heavy into Discord but I do play Playstation, (anyone who wants to chill on some Red Dead hit me up). I don’t really use Discord cause I’m so active on Facebook and Playstation so I forget about discord a lot. I’m not the best at writing long stuff so Moose said we’ll start doing podcasts cause I find it easier to talk than to write. He’s actually editing this but he wants to get us on a podcast cause he wants everyone to hear me. (Note from Moose: I want everyone to hear Dragon because I’m gonna help him with articles and media spots a lot. Mike is a good dude but he’s not gonna be into the 500 words and weekly article stuff like we are.” We’re gonna do a podcast sometime this week so we can use that multiple weeks I guess. I like anime, Attack on Titan is my favorite show. Avatar the Last Airbender is another great show. I mostly just chill when I’m not working like I said. Shout out to Deadpool, demo, whitefire, all my peeps on Red Dead holding down the fort for 421. We all play Minecraft sometimes too if anyone plays that also on PS4. For my goalie I just want to build him up so he’s good. I know we sucked this year cause we had no players but I hope I’m better next season. I don’t usually play stuff like this so Moose told me I just gotta earn points and the sim thing does the rest. I’d like to go the D.C. Dragons at some point, feels right lol. I want to thank Moose and Instant Rockstar for giving me a chance to play. I may not be active in Discord but I want to be a good player for them. I know this season is kinda over but hopefully I can stay next season and do more. Thank you anyone who reads through my rambles. Moose was kinda editing it and said he made it look a little better (Note from Moose: I did my best *cries*).
  6. Michael Fletcher has begun a long road to recovery on the ice. After starting 5-28-1, Fletcher will look to recover as new signings bring the Marlins closer to competitive. It’s a tough road Fletcher knew was coming. King had made it clear he was on an island. But Fletcher’s off ice work is where he’s struggling. Only averaging 3-6 points per week in TPE is a tough road to climb back from but he’s taking those steps now. Fletcher has said he wants to give back to King for helping him get into the league and feels he’s let Moose down by not giving it a lot of effort. Dragon has committed to doing a podcast in the near future where he and Moose will discuss the VHL, NHL, some other sports related topics, and other shoots. There’s no date on this, as it’s been pushed back a couple times, but we expect to see it in the near future.
  7. 1. Its all good bby we just smoking that good shit 2. Moose moosing his mooses 3. I don't think it's fair to have inactive people over active ones but if your on and at least getting some points you shouldn't be cut because you don't talk on discord. 4. Fuck Tampa Bay 5. Chicken and Feta Cheese 6. Yeeee
