    1. It seems like we’ve hit a stand still without much success in our recent games. Any idea what could’ve been the cause of this? Honestly, I think it is just bad luck. We have been hitting the ice and practicing, we seemed to be coming together...and then the wheels fell off. But I think it can turnaround just as quickly as it went bad.

    2. How does your player deal with adversity? Quiet determination. There has to be time to vent the frustration, not directed at anyone, that can destroy team morale and cohesion, but vent to get the negativity out...then work even harder to turn things around

    3. What’s something unique about your player on the ice? Maybe not what you are looking for, but I miss my Mom. Her favorite color is purple. So I wear a purple t-shirt under my gear

    4. How does your player handle situations of pressure? Pressure is a fact of life and trying to hold it in is counter-productive. All that does is cause even more pressure. So I find that long walks help, reminding myself that there are things bigger than me. I sit back and remind myself to enjoy the little things in life and not sweat everything else.

    5. What is a sport that doesn’t get enough love? Here in the US? That is tough. I guess I would say soccer. I know it is popular world-wide. But for some reason we here dont seem to be as interested as we should be

    6. Favourite soft drink? Mt Dew. Not that I have had one in ages. But yea, used to live on those

As a team, we've definitely hit a rough patch recently. It's hard to pinpoint one specific thing that's causing it, but we know we need to work harder and focus on executing our game plan to get back to winning ways.

I think the key to dealing with adversity is to stay focused and never give up. Hockey is a tough sport, and there are always going to be ups and downs. It's important to stay positive, work hard, and believe in ourselves and our abilities.

One thing that's unique about me on the ice is my ability to score goals from anywhere on the ice. I try to always be in the right place at the right time and take advantage of any scoring opportunities that come my way.

I try to stay calm and focused in pressure situations. I know that my team is counting on me to make plays and contribute to our success, so I try to embrace the pressure and use it as motivation to perform at my best.

I think lacrosse is a sport that doesn't get enough love. It's a fast-paced, exciting game that requires a lot of skill and athleticism. I've always enjoyed playing it in the off-season to stay in shape and work on different aspects of my game.

My favorite soft drink is definitely root beer. There's nothing better than a cold, refreshing root beer after a hard-fought game.

Bulduray_1 reacted to LastOneUp in Montgomery Burns Frustrated as Saskatoon Wild Struggle Despite Strong Defensive Play
As the Saskatoon Wild continue to struggle in the VHLM this season, fans and analysts alike are wondering what is going wrong for the team. Despite strong defensive play and a standout performance from forward Montgomery Burns along with some of the other core players, the team has struggled to generate consistent offensive depth and find their footing in the standings.

In a recent interview with VHL.com, Burns expressed his frustration with the team's lack of success this season. "It's been tough," he said. "I know I've been able to contribute and do my part, but we just haven't been able to put it all together as a team. It's frustrating to see us struggling like this."

When asked about the possibility of being traded to a playoff contender, Burns remained focused on the present. "Right now, my focus is on doing everything I can to help the Saskatoon Wild. We still have a lot of games left this season, and anything can happen. I'm just going to keep working hard and doing what I can to help the team."

Despite Burns' impressive play, the rest of the team has struggled to generate offense and find consistency. The team's lack of secondary scoring and inconsistent special teams play have put a lot of pressure on Burns and the top line to carry the load. Burns has been in on a league high 41% of his teams points. Scoring over 22% of the teams goals.

On the defensive end, the team has been much more successful, with strong play from goaltender Reed and the defensemen. However, their strong defensive play has not been enough to overcome their offensive struggles.

As the season continues, the Saskatoon Wild will need to find a way to generate more offense and improve their special teams play if they hope to climb up the standings. With the trade deadline approaching, there is also the possibility of changes to the roster, but for now, the team remains focused on improving and finding success in the VHLM.

Bulduray_1 reacted to LastOneUp in Saskatoon Wild's Struggles Continue Despite Strong Defensive Play, Lack of Offense and Consistency Prove Costly
The Saskatoon Wild have had a challenging season in the VHLM so far, struggling to find consistent success. The team currently sits third last in the league with a record of 10 wins, 11 losses, and 1 overtime loss for a total of 21 points. While the team has had some bright spots, including the strong play of Montgomery Burns, they have been plagued by poor offensive output and lack of consistency.

One of the key issues for the Saskatoon Wild this season has been their inability to generate goals. The team has struggled offensively, scoring just 54 goals through 22 games, which is the second-lowest total in the league. Montgomery Burns has been a bright spot, contributing to 22 of the team's goals with 12 goals and 10 assists, but the rest of the team has struggled to generate offense. The team's lack of secondary scoring has put a lot of pressure on Burns and the top line to carry the load.

On the defensive end, however, the Saskatoon Wild have been much more successful. The team is currently ranked third in the league in goals against, having allowed just 59 goals through 22 games. The team's strong defensive play has been led by goaltender Joseph Reed @BrutalBoost, who has been exceptional this season. Reed has a modest save percentage of .902 and a goals-against average of 2.66, both of which are competitive stats in the league. The team has also benefited from strong play from their defensemen, who have done a good job of limiting the opposition's quality chances.

While the Saskatoon Wild's defensive play has been impressive this season, they have struggled in other areas of the game. One of the team's biggest issues has been their lack of consistency. The team has had games where they have played at a high level, but they have also had games where they have struggled to find their footing. The team will need to improve their consistency if they hope to climb up the league standings. At times, they look like the Toronto Maple Leafs of the VHLM with their lack of consistency.

Another area where the team has struggled this season is on special teams. Their power play has been inconsistent, converting at a league low rate on their opportunities. Their penalty kill has also been subpar, allowing their opponents to score on a higher than average number of their power plays. Special teams play is critical in hockey, and the Saskatoon Wild will need to improve in this area if they want to be more competitive.

In conclusion, the Saskatoon Wild have had a challenging VHLM season so far, struggling to generate offense and find consistency. While Montgomery Burns has been a standout performer, the team has lacked secondary scoring and has been plagued by poor special teams play. The team's strong defensive play, led by Joseph Reed, has been a bright spot, but the team will need to improve in other areas if they hope to turn their season around.

    1) We have had a slow start to the season as a team but I am pleased with my individual results.
    2) Big, physical winger with silky mitts.
    3) Not enough players with skill. Too many bots. We need to improve.
    4) It's a combination of skills that make for a challenging sport. Skating while stickhandling and trying to shoot while reading the ice at a top speed. It adds up to be very difficult.
    5) Not really. I like to stick to a routine so I feel ready for my games but thats it.
    6) There are too many but NFL has the best celebrations. The league has a lot more personality than the NHL does.

Saskatoon Wild - A Story in the Making

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A city of just over 250,000 people along the South Saskatchewan River. The city that loves its hockey and can not wait to see the puck drop on the start of a new season for their home team, the Saskatoon Wild. The crowd was there, the team was dressed and there it was, the first puck drop of the new season. The Wild were hosting the Mississauga Hounds in their season opener. At the end, the difference between the two sides was apparent as the Wild lost 0-2. Wild goalie, Joseph Reed, could not be faulted as he stopped 33 shots out of 35. But the skaters just could not find the net on the other end of the ice. The crowd went home disappointed, but even in the defeat, there was a positive buzz surrounding the team.

The Wild have a young team. They did not have the chance to meet until after the draft. None of them had been on the ice together. So while trying to improve throughout the season they will also be working to come together as a team. There have not been any noted team leaders in this young season, but it is still early and hopes are high that the team will not only gel, but will be able to transfer that to gametime situations.

The second game of the season saw The Wild travel to Ottawa for their first meeting of the season against the hometown Lynx. This contest found the Wild on top at the end of the game. The final score was 1-2 with the Wild getting goals from Thijs Mooij and Darko Alexander Malkovich. While the team was disappointed to have given up the second period goal to the Lynx's Lucky Mitts to tie the game, the winning goal by Darko sealed the victory.

Saskatoon then traveled to Halifax to take on the 21st. Where the Wild were exposed in a 1-4 loss. The only Wild goal came courtesy of Tord Yvel. The Wild seemed to be confused by the tactics of the 21st and never seemed to be playing on their level.

The final game of the week saw Saskatoon on the road once again as they traveled south of the border to take on the Las Vegas Aces. The Wild had traveled 4,351 km to get to Halifax with the stop in Ottawa. They then had to go another 5,384, literally from one side of North America to the other so they could get to Vegas. The Wild did not seem to show any jet-lag as they were competitive in the game but came out on the wrong side of the final score of 2-3. Montgomery Burns of the Wild scored their 2 goals in a nice display of puck movement.

At the end of the week, Saskatoon find themselves at the bottom of the conference with a record of 1-3-0. The goal difference of -5 is something to keep an eye on as the teams improve.

Bulduray_1 reacted to Otis Boudreaux Jr in Selected in the VHLM Draft
    Selected in the VHLM Draft

As Draft Day approached, I sat in my room at the boarding house looking at my phone. It seemed like it would never ring. I had been practicing and hitting the ice as a member of the Warriors in the Junior Showcase Tournament. But as the tournament progressed my lack of skills became glaringly apparent. I was not getting much ice time. To make matters worse, I was not making the most of the time I was being given. I only had 1 goal, 2 assists and 7 penalties. I realize that I had work to do, but the gap between me and the others appeared larger than the Grand Canyon. Every day that went by without any contact confirmed that I just wasnt at the level the VHLM Managers were looking for. There are 10 teams in the VHLM and I was not hearing anything from them. I was not sure what would happen if I was not even on any of their draft boards.

But then I got an email, a team wanted to talk to me about the upcoming draft. I answered the questions as honestly as I could, but it is always tough to gauge how these types of exchanges will develop. I knew that any team that did select me was getting a project that both of us would have to be willing to commit the time and work to so I could be an asset, and not a hinderance, to the team. I wasnt sure how things would go from there, but at least I knew there was a team interested.

Then I got another email. I answered it as well. Yes, they had me on their draft board, another good exchange. Then there was a third, then a fourth and finally a fifth interview request. Five of the teams had me on their draft boards as the big night approached. I knew I wasnt going to be a top pick, I have too much work to do so I can be a valuable part of the team. But whoever selected me was going to get a player who wont give up.

Draft night finally arrived. I watched the first round. I saw players coming off of the board. I had seen their names, recognized them as some of the best rookies in the league, of course they would go quickly. The GMs on the draft did a great job discussing the players and the things they would bring to their teams. But still no "Otis Boudreaux, Jr" had been called. The first and second rounds were over and I was still waiting for my telephone to ring. Then it happened....my phone rang, it was the Saskatoon Wild, they wanted to take me with the first selection of the third round. I almost threw my phone against the ceiling! Then there it was, my name on the board. I had a team, a home.

So now the next chapter in my career is starting. I will be on the Wild and hope to be able to do more good than bad for the team.

Thanks to the Manager and staff at Saskatoon for taking the chance on me, I hope I dont let you down!

Bulduray_1 reacted to LastOneUp in Young Phenom Montgomery Burns Brings Unique Skillset to the VHLM
The Saskatoon Wild has just made a bold move, adding the young and talented right winger, Montgomery Burns, to their already formidable roster. The Wild will undoubtedly benefit from the impressive mix of physicality, finesse, and scoring ability that Burns brings to the table.

Burns comes to Saskatoon with an impressive junior career under his belt, proving himself as a player to watch out for with his 40 goals and 50 assists in his last season alone. But what truly sets Burns apart from his peers is his unique combination of strength and finesse on the ice. This enables him to create opportunities for himself and his teammates, making him a versatile and valuable asset to any team.

Off the ice, Burns is equally impressive, known for his dedication to the community and his involvement in local charities and animal welfare organizations. His kindness and respect for others serve as an inspiration to those around him, making him an exemplary role model both on and off the ice.

The Saskatoon Wild is thrilled to have Burns on their team and are confident that his leadership skills and positive attitude will help lead the team to success this season. With his physicality and scoring ability, Burns is a force to be reckoned with, and fans are in for a treat as he takes the VHLM by storm.

As Burns continues to make a name for himself in the league, fans and opponents alike will undoubtedly witness the rise of a true star in the making. The Saskatoon Wild is fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated player on their team, and they are eager to see what the future holds with Burns leading the charge.
