  1. Life can sometimes be overwhelming - a whirlwind of emotions and expectations that can lead you to stretch yourself thin. It can dull your awareness, making it increasingly difficult to engage with the present. When your mind is cluttered like this, creativity falters, and inspiration struggles to break through the noise. In these troubled times, we can find ourselves stuck in a cycle of anxiety and distraction. Ideas feel distant, and the spark of imagination extinguishes. In a holistic view, the VHL seems unimportant, but there's pressure to perform, which can lead to a further block. Recognizing these feelings can lead to deeper awareness and a better understanding of moments where you should pause and reconnect with yourself without external pressures. While this happens, you lose time for some of your favorite activities, but eventually, new ideas will emerge. Anyway, life's been hectic. I want to write a HoF article, but I can't. Full disclosure - I almost forgot the VHFL and Super Coach payouts. Things will get better! It has taken a while for this claim to be approved, and with the VHL birthday, it turned into an incredible opportunity to upgrade this to a Point Task. 17 TPE for an extra 300 words? Lovely! Keeping in line with the overall theme of well-being, I believe it's a splendid time to let the league know how appreciative I am of it, even though my activity hasn't been the same for the past months. This league embodies both the highs and lows of life. Each challenge can become a source of your next best version. As a team, not everything will happen as you'd like. There will be challenges to overcome, and much like in life, beauty is waiting on the other side. Lately, the league overcame a small challenge, Fantasy Zone. My view is tied to the user running it when I entered the league, Justin. Ever since Justin decided to step down from the position, after some holistic changes to the structure of Fantasy Zone, it never managed to recover. Either because of the unwillingness, inability, or lack of opportunity, the Zone couldn't get back to the highs of early 2022. Enter @AJW. What a 'bang on' choice he was for this job. Not only did he manage to change minor things that helped bring back the community's interest, but he also added new features that created a more considerable 'buzz' around Fantasy. To put it plainly, it's no longer dull, and I believe he has not finished innovating yet. Let's end this small rant by telling how appreciative I am of this season's Wranglers. I felt like we've all been in somewhat similar situations in life. Either stuck in work or starting a new one, it felt like we wanted to be more present than we were, but it didn't take anything away from our Locker Room. Through it all, we have shown incredible resilience and camaraderie. Our locker room still reminds me why this league is so special.

  7. The off-season has started for the Calgary Wranglers. As other teams continue to the playoffs and keep their Continental Cup hopes alive, for the Albertan team, it's time to figure out their future. They enter the off-season holding two first-round selections. Apart from their selection, Calgary has Prague's first-rounder, which was part of the deal made at the beginning of last season that took Skor McFleury to Czechia. As Calgary faded from their promising start to the season, they finished 6th in the North American conference, not far from a playoff spot, but with this result, there also comes the hope that their draft pick becomes 1st OA. While the probability isn't high, Calgary can be hopeful with its 10.0% chance. On the other hand, Calgary holds Prague's first-rounder, the team that finished 6th in the European conference and the worst record in the league. This selection has a 25.0% chance of being the number 1 OA, which increases Calgary's chances of having the 1st OA to 35.0%! If PRG 1st becomes the 1st OA, Calgary will have the 1st and 6th overall selections. If another team gets 1st OA, Calgary will be 2nd and 6th. But there's another scenario, the best of these three. If CGY 1st becomes 1st OA, that means Calgary will hold the 1st and 2nd selections of the draft, something Moscow managed to do last season.

    What could the Trade Deadline mean for this season's Calgary Wranglers? The Canadian team has found itself in the middle of the North American playoff race. While everyone expected them to be outside of contention and playing for an early draft selection, allowing them to select the future core of their team, that hasn’t happened. Entering the season with the start of their rebuild, Calgary made moves after losing their S88 top draft pick. Alongside the top goaltender, Dilson, Calgary moved their top forward to Malmo. And after losing a top forward in Abass and future Hall of Famer Phil Strasmore, Calgary moved their core towards their S90 players. Apart from Raimo and Catia, the team struggles with top talent, which gave us some questions about the team and whether they could contend. Overall, they weren’t supposed to, but the Wranglers started the season with a win streak of over 10 games. The reality is that the team came together and gave Calgary fans hopes of getting back to the playoffs. And now, in the middle of the race for the wildcard spot, the question is whether Calgary will be buying to improve their team. We’ll find out in the next 24 hours!
  14. If the VHLM was a god, it would be Janus. As Wikipedia so eloquently puts it, "Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings," often depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. Famously, the Janus mask symbolizes the idea of having two different perspectives or roles, much like how something can have two contrasting sides. Why is that? After all, this league represents and is part of our beginnings, either through our discovery and start in the VHL or our transition between a (hopefully) long and illustrious career back to the first chapter of a new story. While this is one side, there's another hidden behind. Returning users and their players who retire early or choose to create in the previous season's trade deadline often become that league's most dangerous players, hogging top lines and top minutes from the newer generation. Much is said about this league and others above it. Some believe it's time to let one of the two go, but there's a place for both - although there's a better balance to be found, and the first task to complete would be an expansion on the other side of the Atlantic. But what about the VHLM? It seems like a recurring theme in the league - a team is either contending or struggling. It doesn't have to be that way. The league has seen its fair share of changes in the past seasons under the leadership of this management team, and we can't say everything has been perfect, but we can say that it's a refreshing sight. This duo has implemented different changes that have helped level the league and create a more balanced field, but we still find teams lacking the numbers to be able to contend. On another note, not too long ago, an eight-team league went through its restructuring, but that certainly wasn't the right move. Is eight the correct number? Could it be the one for the VHLM? Looking at the league's current rosters, it certainly seems to be that way. Moreover, the VHLM is an outstanding place for trying new things and helping players grow without getting accustomed to it. Because it's more flexible than other leagues, it encourages creativity and adaptability instead of pushing the right buttons to find the most efficient players. Could we find the optimal structure within the different leagues to find the best balance between them, helping users enjoy the different progression levels they'll go through? Is folding one of the leagues the best option? Should every player below a certain level be pooled in the same group? Is it better to find the correct balance between the different lower leagues so everyone has the chance to make the most out of their time there? The only time we should struggle is during our VHL rookie season, and even then, if you're a talented player with honed skills and great potential, you should have the opportunity to excel on the ice. We'll wait and see!
  15. As life tends to be more and more in the way, it’s gotten to the point of laying in bed, writing a small article directly on the editor. Miss you, Grammarly. For good measure both Maverick and the Calgary Wranglers continue to show up with class and poise this season. Even though the team has lost some heat in the past week, the early season run has given us some breathing room and while that’s great it also raises some questions for the remainder of the season. It could be a fun trade deadline as Frank’s article mentioned. In other news, Maverick has been stellar, helping Cologne continue its domination run in the VHLE. The young forward leads the team in points, only behind Bouchard in the league. As he progress deeper into the season, this could lead to a more prominent role within the team. These are situations to keep monitoring closely this season and hopefully on a personal note I’m able to enjoy it a bit more too! To be claimed June 16th w/ uncapped package.
  16. Good games, though. Easily could have 4-1-1 too. Can’t complain
  17. Cologne, Germany - Cologne might be known for its Eau de Cologne, that light fragrance with a lower concentration of perfume oil – a whisper in the world of scents. But when it comes to hockey, Cologne ditches the subtlety and goes full-on powerhouse! We are - of course - talking about the Express, and once again, they look like the team to beat in the VHLE. The German side has already taken first place in the regular season standings, holding the best offensive and defensive records. When you evaluate a team like this, it's difficult to pin their success on just one player, but this season, it may be more challenging than ever. Let's put three players in the spotlight today. On offense, it's not who you might think. Maverick's been doing great, but Alexandros Mograine has been stellar for the Express. The Canadian has shown he can move the puck and put it in the right spots for the team to succeed. Imagine if he can improve on the abysmal 1.85 shot percentage - this might be our MVP. On defense, it's a known face, Joseph Dubois. In his fourth season in the E, Doubois has shown the opposite luck with his shots and holds an incredible 14.89 shot percentage. We pair that with his defensive leadership, and he could have the VHLE's Top Defenseman in Cologne. Last but not least, no team can survive without a great goalie, and Soju has been him. After a surprising draft and uncertain future, Soju is the starter in Cologne and has taken control of the situation. With the videogame-like numbers he's posting, he could be a lock for the Orion D H Chiester IX Trophy. So next time you think of Cologne, remember: they're the perfume of the E - subtle in fragrance but explosive on the ice! @sliceruser, @Dubois, @Frank;

  23. Calgary, Canada - "What is going on in Calgary?" That's the question we've heard the most over the past week in the VHL. The Wranglers started the season hoping to be a mid-level team with room for growth during the upcoming seasons. Management stated their goal was self-improvement, using this season as a bridge for better things in the future. Now they have a nine-game win streak on their hands, and it's impossible not to think of this team as more than mid-level. For now, they look like the ever-loving underdog fighting their way to the top. This group of players became a well-oiled machine and are using this energy to keep this streak going. It looks like a great story, but new, pertinent questions come with it. Should Calgary ride this group and see what they can achieve together? Could they be overperforming and need help transitioning from being a good to a great team? We can't wait to see what's next for the Wranglers!
  24. No biggie. Group complete!
  25. I will keep an eye on this one! Couldn’t leave you all without a GM
