  1. 1. It's been a very interesting year so far. I think the quality of goaltending in has been very good this season and teams are quite evenly matched. Just got to keep improving as a whole and we can definitely challenge Cologne. 2. I think we have lapses in discipline that come back to bite us. 3. He's been great. Definitely one of the best goalies in the league and like I said previously, there are a lot of good goalies. 4. Keep working hard, keep improving, and we can be a scary team in the playoffs. 5. Happy to see him hit it. Joins the likes of Crosby and Ovi which is a big accomplishment 6. I'm very happy I went all in on the Bruins for my fantasy team.

  4. Cologne Express keep chugging along as a 4-2 victory over the Vasteras Iron Eagles nets them their 12th win a they remain undefeated. Vinny Lecavalier @Spartakiller2 (5) opens the scoring for the Iron Eagles with a feed from Eric White (6) and Lloyd Braun @Toast (8), but Lorenzo Cobberson @Hendrix Cobberson (10) responds four minutes later to tie it right back up. Braun takes a tripping penalty and its Cobberson (11) again, taking advantage on the powerplay. Just over a minute later Braun (2) is the one tying it up with a power play goal of his own. The second period is all Express as they out shoot their opponent 23-6. Fred Hampton @TownBizness (7)(8) scores the game winner and the insurance marker as Cologne leads 4-2 heading into the 3rd. Goalies lock the game down in the 3rd as they score holds for the final 20 minutes. Two goals each rewards Cobberson and Hampton with 1st and 2nd star respectively. Al Land @BigDee nabs 3rd with 1 assist and 7 hits.

  6. 1. I think we've got what it takes to win this thing. That's my goal 2. Yes I am happy with our leadership core. Wann Kerr and I played together in the VHLM and he has certainly earned his A. 3. I trust our GM 100%, I don't really know a lot about the managerial side of things so I'll leave that to him. 4. By putting in the work. If we work harder we can win 5. Iginla is my all-time favourite. Ruzicka is my current pick. I have a pretty nice Ruzicka collection and it's been exciting seeing him play on the 1st line. 6. It would be shit. Because I don't even know how to answer that question. Body check them? I don't think my type defense experience translates very well.

  11. 1) They had us sweating after game 4, but I think we have found our groove and will have no trouble closing it out. 2) If he does re-sign, then that he’ll be a great foundation for the new GM and will set him up for success. 3) Both Mexico City and Marauders swept both their series, so either of them seem to be a tough playoff opponent. 4) Flames are off to a great start! Can’t complain about 2-0 5) No plans to, I’ve went to a Blades game recently though! 6) Caught up on a ton of work
  12. 1) While it's nice to be #1, none of that matters if we can't win in the playoffs. With how close the standings were, every team here has a shot. 2) For sure, it would be very disappointing to not make it out of the first round. 3) He's actually in all of our family photos. It's wild because I don't remember him being there when they were taken. 4) Quite. Calgary look pretty good so far. 5) Probably McDavid. But who knows. Maybe MacKinnon finally snags one. 6) Avs vs. Leafs, Avs in 7
  13. The Houston Bulls fall to the Philadelphia Reapers 3-1 despite a 43 save performance from goalie Shadow Thompson. @Kelsey Thomas Matthews opens the scoring with his 11th of the season from Gio Naps. @GiosPoolParty They hold this lead for a total of 42 seconds as Tom Creeg @Creegan610 responds with his 31st from Gavin Rozzdale @Jbeezy76 and Luke Glendenning. @ColeMrtz The tie holds as we head into the 2nd period. The score remained neutral until LeBen Aky @Ben_Reformed come up with his 10th goal of the season with a helper from Sunglasses Joyo @JetsGoalie101 to give the Reapers the lead they will start the 3rd period with. 11 minutes into the third we see Rozzdale capitalize on the power play, getting Dirk Diggler @Tbeez99 on the board with an assist for him and Glendenning. The final two periods saw the Reapers outshoot their opponents 34 - 17. Thompson puts up an impressive .935 SV%, but Evan Bihler grabs first star, stopping 23 of 24 for a SV% of .958
  14. 1) For sure. Our squad has been through a lot. Both on and off the ice. But we've grownj from it and are strongere than ever. 2) At the rate he's going it's not if, it's when. Dude can shoot. 3) You underestimate him. His ambitions are much grander than Las Vegas. He won't rest until he takes control of the entire VHL. 4) Definitely. I think the streak gives us a little extra push because we want to see him keep it going. 5) After a disappointing first JST, I'm quite excited to have another shot at it. My VHLM experience has really prepared me and I feel a lot stronger this time. 6) Wow, what rollercoaster of an off-season for us flames fans. I wasn't surprised Gaudreau left, but I didn't expect Tkachuk to be gone so soon. With adding Huberdeau, Kadri, and Weegar I think playoffs should be expected, but how far we go into them? Anyone's guess.
  15. Ottawa Lynx take down the Mexico City Kings in overtime with a score of 3-2. The Lynx started hot, looking to further increase their lead in the VHL standings. 5 minutes in, it's Sadie St-Louis @sadie with their 26th of the year assisted by Brayden Albrecht @Gage2 and John Richards @John Cimarno. With 3 minutes left in the 1st period, St-Louis pays back the favour and dishes it to Albrecht for his 22 of the season. All is quiet until Halvar Tornjorn @Rayzor_7 brings the deficit to 1, as he scores his 22nd of the year from Nikolas Kauppi @Tetricideand Darius Marimoto II @Bobo. No more scoring as the period closes leaving the score at 2-1 Lynx heading into the 3rd. A whopping six penalties in the 3rd, three a piece, but only one is capitalized on as Torbjorn ties it up for Ottawa with a feed from Nanashi Mumei @kobematthew sending this game to overtime. Albrecht is the overtime hero as he pots his second of the game, 2 minutes in, to give Ottawa the win. And with said win, Ottawa remains ahead of the Las Vegas Aces by one point to remain first in the league. Mexico City remains in 4th place in the conference and 9th overall. They will be looking to try and catch the San Diego Marlins.
  16. 1) While its unlikely we go undefeated from this point, I do think we have first place nearly secured. 2) Not like he can get MORE penalties. Haha I kid, because where there's a will, there's a way. 3) I didn't realize that Discord bits were allowed to play in this league? But you learn something new every day I guess. 4) No favourite, but I got three fantasy teams going. Have the Dolphins as my defense in all of them and they've been doing alright 5) We always need more TopTiddee2 6) Finishing up my OV upgrade to try and up the scoring a bit. Maybe put some into DK as well.
  17. 1) We get better every game. At this rate we definitely have a shot at first. 2) As the captain of the aces, Juan brings 100% to every game. However, he constantly talked about how the Queen is his best friend. "Lizzie" he called her. I know he's been having a tough time, but I think he can channel that emotion into performance out on the ice. It's what she would have wanted. 3) Not worried. Like I said before, I believe we are the fastest improving team. By playoffs we will be the best. 4) It's tough to come in and fill the enormous shoes of Joel. I think he has done well so far and I hope to see him continue to improve. 5) I'm not paid enough to make these kinds of decisions. 6) Got sick :(, I also ate a donair. That's about it.
  18. Game 102 Review: Saskatoon Wild vs. Halifax 21st
  19. The Halifax 21st defeats the Saskatoon Wild in a shootout 2-1. A nailbiter that went 6 rounds with both goalies standing on their heads. Halifax peppered Wild goalie Alexander Minion @Minion with shots in the first period, outshooting Saskatoon by 11-6 by periods end, but could not squeak one by him. Second period saw less shots, but more goals with Sergeiy Poligaev @JahCartier opening the scoring just over a minute in. The 21st respond with an equalizer from Bedirhan Paard. @Bedirhan Saskatoon, looking to increase their first place lead in the conference, push for a goal in the third with 10 shots, but could not get another past Ash Sparks @DarkSpyro as this games heads to overtime. Goalies stay sharp in OT as this game heads into a shootout. Oli Mcgee @Oli-La-Poutine and Babay Shrimp @Blazzer exchange goals in the second round. Daddy Durkin @Daddy Durkin potting the eventual game winner in the sixth round, finally getting another one past Minion. Walking away with the win and the first star of the game is Alexander Minion, while Ash Sparks gets a consolation 2nd star, and Bedirhan Paard rounds out the three, thanks to his game tying goal. Halifax finds themselves firmly in third place in the division following this win, leading the Philadelphia Reapers by 5 points. With this OT loss, Saskatoon remains in first place in the conference, leading the Las Vegas Aces by two points.
