It's Nice to Be Home Playing in Europe was a dream come true for Mancini, getting to play on his home continent. Drafted by Istanbul he was happy that at least the weather wouldn't be different from home, and even San Diego. Only a few days after the press conference in Istanbul, he was told that there was an undergoing trade discussion involving him between them and... Rome. While Mancini kept it to himself, he was absolutely ecstatic about this news, he had always dreamed of being able to play professionally in his home country. And like clockwork, the trade went through, and off he was back home. Sure, he was from Milan, but this was close enough. Mancini continued to perform at a high level, continuing to average about a point per game and was a top leader in both goals and power play goals in the VHLE. His defense gradually improved since the beginning of the season, especially after the -8 plus-minus. Though off the ice he absolutely proved he was a great teammate. He melded in very well in the locker room, (hard not to get along with a guy who is constantly making you and the boys food), and was chosen to be an assistant captain of the team. He also proved to be very popular with the fans, being Italian himself, and he found himself attending all kinds of events and mingling with them. Though his absolute favorite part of the season was undeniably "L'ANFITEATRO", where they played a game in an ancient Roman amphitheater, it was a surreal experience for everyone, even for the guys who had played in multiple before. Of course aside from social life he had to worry about his development as a player, he's New York's newest mafia boss after all. His point per game average was what he expected of himself, along with his production on the powerplay. But a nagging feeling told him it wasn't enough, he needed to produce more. These feelings only compounded after their horrendous run toward the end of the season, going 1-14-3 in 18 games at one point, dropping from 1st in the league to barely in 4th. It was incredibly frustrating to him, he didn't blame anyone for it, just was frustrated in general. Though with his time in Rome coming to an end, he knows he still has a bright future ahead of him in New York. Word Count: 401

1. How do you think the addition of Mark Calaway will impact the team? 2. Looks like Geneva is the team to beat as of right now, how should we approach playing them? 3. Charles Williams seems to be our bully with 189 hits. How many do you think he will have at the end of the season? 4. What players on the team do you think get along easily? 5. If you could be sponsored by any company, who would it be? 6. What sport would your player have chosen to play, had it not been hockey? -

1. Just had our first regulation loss in 15 games. Can we keep up a pace like that or are we due for a bit of a slump? 2. Matthew McCagg currently has a 0.932 sv %, 4th best in the league. How crucial has his play been for our success? 3. Will BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson end the season as the top goal scorer in the league? 4. If we had a theme song, what would it be? 5. Would you rather give up using a phone or tablet forever or give up having any seasonings in food? 6. The Anaheim Ducks have an 18.5% chance for the first overall pick in the entry draft. Who do you hope wins the draft lottery? -
ROME PREPARING FOR "L'ANFITEATRO" Even after 2000 years, this roman amphitheater is still standing and even hosting events. With the season reaching it's halfway mark, the Rome Gladiators are preparing for their annual outdoor event referred to as "l'anfiteatro", or "the amphitheater" in Italian. This old roman amphitheater lying along the outskirts of Rome will be transformed into a professional hockey venue with a capacity of about 7,000 people. The tradition started a few years ago, and seeing a huge reception, has stuck around to this day. "I'm incredibly excited," says Gladiators forward Francesco Mancini, "I came down from Milan to watch the first one and it was an incredible experience, now I actually get to play in it, its a wonderful feeling." Many of his teammates share similar views about the event. Critics of the event are concerned on how it's affecting the preservation of the structure due to the construction and deconstruction of the playing surface every year. The Italian government hasn't made its opinions clear about the event, but have not stopped the continuation of the event thus far. The cost for the event is estimated to be around $500,000 euros, to be compensated by ticket sales and sponsors of the event.

1. Where do you think the team can look to improve so far? What have been the big problems from what you can tell? 2. What do you think the teams biggest strength is? 3. We've currently made it to 4th in the league, 2 points behind Cologne and 6 behind Geneva. Will we be able to catch up with them? 4. How has your player been performing? Is it to your liking? 5. Who do you think is going to win the Stanley Cup? 6. Would you rather be stuck on a broken ski lift or in a broken elevator? -

1. After 10 games played so far, how do you feel about the teams' performance? 2. Who would you say are the favorites for the VHLE championship this year? 3. BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson, Francesco Mancini, & Bobby Bob, are 4th, 6th, and 7th respectively in goals scored in the VHLE so far, do you think they'll be able to keep up the pace? 4. Do you have any goals for your player this season? 5. Would you rather the gold ring go to the overall best Gladiators player each week, or the 5 best Gladiators players each week? (check #gold-ring & #team-announcements for context) 6. If money were no object, where on Earth would you travel to and/or live? -

1. I might be a little biased but I'm pretty happy with them :) 2. I'm absolutely ready, cannot wait. 3. Perhaps a little more defensive depth, it does seem pretty shallow atm. 4. Dont think i can say much seeing as I wasn't here last year but I'm excited to be playing for them. 5. Making graphics 6. VHLM, just seems pretty chill there.
