Would recruitment be open to hosting graphics contests for TPE? Can get our top artists competing against each other in a pro bracket, then also have an amateur bracket for members who want to compete but aren't super competitive with graphics. Different TPE prizes per bracket (everyone gets butt hurt about voting so y'all would have to figure something out about that). You get graphics to use for recruitment, we get a chance at some extra TPE.

    I think id be cool

I mean the numbers can be different but I'd assume the formula takes an individuals submissions, calculates there score, then based on said score give an amount of TPE, which is the exact same as what I'm saying. The individual thresholds can be made to be anything

The formula would still have to change to match the tpe payout change

How so? The second system is purely the same as the current one being suggested with the only difference being that I'm saying you should get credit for being within 1 of the correct position.

There is a code that we have for payouts and that is completely different then the code, I had to mess around with it last season with my standings thing

I talked to youloser too and I’ll be running 3 2 2 for Pick ‘Em like you said :)

4+ Games guessed correctly = 2 TPE, 1-3 Games guessed correctly = 1 TPE. Questions will include one per league (3 total). 3/3 Questions correct = 2 TPE, 1-2 Questions correct = 1 TPE.

So you can make a total of 4 TPE per week from FZ. 2 for Pick ‘Em, 2 for Questions.

yeah there is a code for the sheet that does the math for u idk if yuloser sent it or not

I’ve been browsing through the VHL Fantasy Zone thread and Pick ‘Em seems to be hands down the fan favourite. It’s what we have rolled with since day 1 so why even bother doing other stuff like standings predictions if not everyone likes it. So I think Pick ‘Em is all I really should master right now.

0-2 Games correctly for 1 TPE

3-4 Games correctly for 2 TPE

5-6 Games correctly for 3 TPE

This payout seems to be the most common TPE payout used for Pick ‘Em. I added in 0-2 since I feel like members should still be rewarded for attempting the task, but I can change this. 2 games per league each week with a maximum of 3 TPE paid out should be perfect. Once indexes are posted I will start to work on Week 1 and my goal here is to have submissions open each Monday, closing on Friday. Games to guess on will be simmed on Saturdays/Sundays. I think this gives everyone more than enough time to get this task done (some may need extra time researching stats and standings), and a two day window of games to guess on is plenty. VHLM should sim roughly 20 games, VHLE 12 games, and VHL 32 games per two sims.

I’ve been liking having this all in a thread the way my brain works. Can always come back to it and anyone can help me out as I’m learning. I like being vocal with what I do so please if anyone in the future has any ideas feel free to use this thread!!!

2 games per league? It is 3 VHL 2 VHLE 2 VHLM

So you could do 2 things. With 32 teams total between the leagues you have a max of 64 points with a perfect bracket.

So you could do like Super Coach with a percentile based system:

    Top Picker(s) 6 TPE

    80th+ Percentile 5 TPE

    60-80th 4 TPE

    40-60th 3 TPE

    20-40 2 TPE

    0-20 1 TPE

Or you can do a score based system where if you do good you win more, personally I like this better bc a decent score isn't punished by others just doing better than you.

    50+ 6TPE

    40-50 5TPE

    30-40 4tpe

    20-30 3tpe

    10-20 2tpe

    0-10 1tpe

You could adjust the numbers but it depends on your goals.... The 2nd method could lead to an overload of uncapped TPE of too many do well while the 1st system will lead to a more even distribution.

Honestly issue with this is the payouts, that would be a mess for payouts either way

I wouldn’t say teams choose the player, more so the player has less options at which team they can choose. So for example Houston wouldn’t be an option for a winger to sign if they joined today, we would hold 3rd or 4th priority tier according to my made up numbers. Teams in the 1st priority tier would be the teams that the player could choose from, and if no one qualifies then all the 2nd tier priority teams are open. Hope that makes sense! I’m kinda leaning into Ricer’s original priority idea too

Post thoughts: I bet this would also create coding problems for the portal dev actually come to think of it. Idk how they would be able to set up a tier system within our waiver system.

I havent read since Friday before 7pm EST but on this I like the priority system along with players choice

How does that even happen? Players aren’t supposed to change leagues mid season anymore.

In any case I would say the M amount of 3

dont ask me but was just wondering

We do have the first-gen bonus thread for those who cross the 100 TPE threshold and have a first-gen player. The idea you have here though I feel could be used and abused, but not an entirely bad idea.

My friend who I recruited is at 96, im trying so hard to get him to 100 this week

So only issue with passing is as we get closer to trade deadline we don't want people to be encourage to pass so they can pick up recreates instead of first gens.

If waivers are done by positional deficiency there should never be a reason to pass.  A defender gets created and you have only 1, there is no valid reason to pass.

Also don't want people passing to avoid picking up a back up goalie and having to split starts when they are on a competitive run.  Take the goalie and deal with it.

I keep pulling SHL into it but they do it well. Recreates since it is after the TDL they are DFA's

So after the TDL you have to say when you are done claiming skaters or goalies. The only way you can claim a player is if you contact the DFA first then make a claim. The claim for DFA's would be first come first serve but again u must talk to the DFA first to see if they would want to join your team.

    Exxample:
Lets say Lemorse retired his player to recreate at the recreate time. Once he recreates lets say Ricer sends Lemorse a DM asking would you be willing to join MIA and he says yes then Ricer is allowed to put a claim on lemorse if he was first to put a claim then he gets Lemorse's player but if he was after lets say Mclovin put a claim on Lemorse's player then Ricer wouldnt get Lemorse's player and McLovin would.

  11. Now I have said this before on the actual Waiver page it should not go by standings it should go by the quantity of players of that position by lowest to largest to maybe get more people to join teams with that position need

He did say you can skip a pick. It could be like SHL in a way where GM's must play for the team they GM for or AGM for

Would also like to add to my comment.

I am a CO-GM in the SHL aswell and I do like the rule of having to play for the team you are a GM for. It makes it easier to control and every GM just kinda knows the rule so they all pass I am pretty sure. But I do think it should just be an automatic signing and no having to claim and lose your spot in the priority list just to claim your player or your AGM's player

  13. 41 minutes ago, AJW said:

@Ricer13 you said “If San Diego takes the player” this was leading into my second thought, would we be able to pass on players only if that position is full? For example, let’s say you have your AGM that wants to play for you and they just created a player but you don’t have priority pick… can every team pass on them so that you can take them? Resulting in your team losing that priority position until your next turn around?

He did say you can skip a pick. It could be like SHL in a way where GM's must play for the team they GM for or AGM for
