  1. I mentioned a little while ago starting an ASMR reading YouTube/TikTok, and I’m proud to say it started this week! Today I posted a poem that @LucyXpher wrote and I’m really happy about how it turned out. If you’re interested in that sort of thing, feel free to head over to TikTok for poems, and my YouTube for short stories. I appreciate all of you! https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMB7r4y28/ https://youtube.com/@ace_smr?si=ed-BcmOvo1Eo1r8f
  2. Seems like you could probably get a whole season's worth of media spots out of this
  3. The stage is set. The Toronto Legion will take on the New York Americans in the first round of the VHL playoffs. Expectations are high for the Legion after they finished the regular season just one point shy of the Victory Cup winning Moscow Menace. Sporting the fourth-best goals-for and third lowest goals-against in the league, Toronto has shown that they are a force on both sides of the ice. Joining us today is someone who the Legion have relied on heavily in all situations this season, and had a career year offensively because of it – Andrew Skilton. Q: Andrew, how are you feeling about your chances going into the series with the Americans in what will be your third playoffs in four seasons? A: I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but I feel pretty good. The team has clicked all season long, and I feel like there’s no reason why that can’t continue in the playoffs. I know it’s a whole different game out there come playoff time, and top teams have been met with early exits in the past, but we’re ready to step up and push for the cup. Q: How do you feel about your play this season? Are there any adjustments you would make personally going into round one? A: I couldn’t be happier with my performance offensively this season. My defensive numbers did take a hit as I was looking to control myself physically this season. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite work out the way I had hoped. While I moved away from taking the body, my stick work was wild at times and got me in trouble, which landed me in the box more than my last two seasons, and I was head-hunting in my rookie season for sure. I’d like to make some changes so I don’t put the team in any disadvantageous positions with my play. Q: You really excelled with your shot on the special teams this season, with 15 of your 17 goals coming with one of the teams a man down. Why do you think you were able to put the puck in the back of the net in those situations? A: Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe one fewer player on the ice just means less people for my shot to bounce off of on the way to the net? Beats me. As for those two short-handers, I think it’s more of a “right place at the right time” situation. Plus, my teammates are pros. I have been working on my skating and stickhandling, but so few of those goals happen in a season that most of the time it’s luck, and you just happen to break away from the defenders. It also helps that GM Doug @dstevensonjr has me out there in every situation, so there’s no shortage of chances. Q: New York’s top scorers are also very physical players. How do you plan on shutting them down? A: I don’t know if you noticed, but we have one man wrecking ball Toby Kadachi @ROOKIE745 on our team. We’re a well-rounded enough team that the physical play doesn’t bother us. We will adjust our play to move the puck a bit more and make sure they can’t keep up. We have seen this team enough times this season that we know what needs to happen to beat them. Now it’s time to execute our plan. Thank you Andrew for your time. We look forward to watching this series unfold, it should be very entertaining. Good luck out there. (592 words)
