1. After a great first round series against Philadelphia, we are down by two games. How do we get back into the series? "We just keep playing our game and the wins will come. This team hasn't doubted ourselves all season and there's no reason to now. We will go out there and play every game to our fullest potential." 2. What is your offseason plans for your player? "It's been a long season so I want to spend some time with the family and relax. I've been able to train in any situation so I'm confident that I can take some time for myself and my loved ones while also preparing for S94." 3. What is a playoff superstition your player practices? "I try not to be too superstitious. I like to do things the same way every game mostly out of habit, but some people see that as superstition. I try to keep the negative thoughts out of my head and not leave anything up to a 'higher power'. I like to keep myself accountable for whatever happens." 4. Are you paying attention to the playoffs in other leagues? "I'm not keeping too close of an eye but I'm checking out the highlights where I can. Moreso I'm checking out the VHLE since I'll most likely be there next season and I want to be informed about what's going on in the league." 5. Halifax has never won the Founder's Cup. Is it our year? "I certainly hope it is. We have a team that's been built to win it all so it would be fantastic to see that through to the very end. It would be exciting to come into this league being completely new and lead this team to their first Founder's Cup." 6. Is Ovechkin done after the playoff sweep? "He can't stop now. One more season and he'll break the all-time goals record. He still has more in the tank and I don't see him calling it quits when he knows how close he is to history."

He was hesitant to come forward, but I’ve hear the Miami Mauraders AGM has some inside sources on the team that have insinuated that the Halifax GM has some sort of affiliation with the lord of the underworld himself.

After Halifax clinched a playoff spot last week, captain Andrew Skilton @ace_five_ decided to take the team out for dinner at the highest-rated restaurant he could find in the city and treat them all to some fine dining. He worked his magic and got them a reservation for 20 for the following evening to celebrate the accomplishment – the first goal of the season being complete. Andrew knew it was going to be a new experience for most of the team, considering the average age of the team is just over 19, with most being 18 or younger. Arriving first, just after Skilton and 20 minutes early, was newcomer Phil Sakic @Phil. Ready to impress and maybe trying to assert some dominance, Sakic took a seat at the head of the table. Coming in together not too much later were management icons @LucyXpher and @Will3. They casually took a seat while making some small talk with Sakic. Entering with some laughter and light ribbing were big guns John Season @dylanjj37, Maple Dogwood @dogwoodmaple, and Pierre Marc Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito, who showed up just before the reservation time together, with Season dethroning Sakic and taking the head of the table. Right on time, in strolled Connor Simard @Alex99 and Jon Webber III @Webberj, who were coming out of a light jog and checking their watches to make sure they weren’t late. Tommy Shelby @Will was next to enter the restaurant, fashionably (literally) late as usual without a care in the world. He sat right in the centre to make sure he could hear and speak to everyone equally. As everyone was getting their drink orders in, some loud laughing could be heard at the entrance as Dustin Moore @Maxx and Alexandr Novotny @Patrik Tallinder made their way in. A fist bump could be seen as the two came around the corner grinning at each other. Trickling in after that were Aanarsi Reingaard @Laine, Ty Duke @TheDuke, Captain Nugget Jr. @Captain nugget and Dorji Khan @Oddpurplefly, who each quickly took their seats and called over the server to get their drinks in, which of course had to be the most expensive ones on the menu (that they could legally drink of course). Last but not least, in running came Robin Sierra @ethanjaeda apologizing profusely and explaining that they went to two of the wrong restaurants before arriving. Apparently, they’d been left out (or they accidentally removed themself) from the group chat saying where the restaurant was. Finally situated, the team ended up having an amazing dinner of steaks, salads, seafood, and drinks until each and every one of them was completely stuffed. They chatted about their individual accomplishments throughout the season as well as what they’ve been able to accomplish together, bringing the 21st out of the basement of the league and making the team a force to be reckoned with. There was talk about the beginning of the season when they couldn’t seem to score more than two goals in a game, to now being the highest-scoring team in the league. Robin Sierra finally let Skilton know that they dyed his laces with glow-in-the-dark ink back on April Fools Day, to which Andrew was baffled he hadn’t figured out yet. Everyone had a good chuckle about the ridiculous story that Saskatoon defenceman Bollos de Trueno @Thunder22 put out trying to disparage management. Even Lucy and Will had a laugh about that one, whether it was through their teeth or not was undetermined. By the end, Dogwood had revealed that the Jelly Coin extravaganza was finally over. They would never be getting their money back, but the investigation had finally come to a close. At the end of dinner, Skilton tapped on his glass and asked for some silence at the table. He stood up from his chair with his glass in hand and said, “I just want to thank each and every one of you for the season that we’ve had. We couldn’t have made it this far without the hard work and dedication of everyone. While we’ve had some ups and some downs, we’ve been able to band together and put up some outstanding numbers for this club. I want to thank Lucy and Will for putting together this group and pushing us to our highest potential. You’ve given us all an opportunity to shine on this stage, knowing that in doing that, you won’t end up seeing us for too long as we make our way to the VHLE and ultimately, the VHL. You’ve made the experience for a new guy like me one to remember, and I’ll carry that through to the end of my career and beyond.” Some cheers of ‘Here here!’ were shouted from various points of the table at this statement. Skilton continued, “It has been an honour and a pleasure to call myself the captain of this squad and I’m proud to call you all brothers and sisters in arms. Now, this isn’t the end of the road, the playoffs are a whole new game, but I’m confident that if we continue what we’ve been doing all season long and trust in each other, we’ll be hoisting the Founder’s Cup in no time! So let’s make a toast, to the best locker room in the VHLM, the Halifax 21st!” As those words were spoken the team erupted in a cheer, clinking glasses and chugging what was left in them. The restaurant staff had to come over and quiet the team because they were disturbing the other patrons. Understanding they were maybe overstaying their welcome, the team began departing. They all decided to take a walk at the pier and take in the ocean and the namesake of the team. Of course, the group can’t go anywhere without causing some sort of havoc, so Phil Sakic was sent to the end of the pier after being told that if he looked straight down into the water he could see the remains of the last ship to dock at Pier 21 before it caught on fire. Unceremoniously, Sakic was shoved into the chilly waters by his teammates, who let him wade a bit before helping him out and handing over a cheque for a new suit. They all had a laugh and began breaking off to head home and get some rest for the upcoming playoffs. (1042 Words)

"My goal was to his 200TPE by the end of the season, and I reached that goal today so I'm happy with what I've done so far." 2. Is the Founder's Cup a two horse race between Ottawa and us? "I wouldn't count any teams out and get that confident. Yes, Ottawa has a great team, as do we, but the playoffs are a whole different beast and we need to stay on top of our game in order to win the Cup." 3. What teammate had been the most have been the most underrated? "Connor Simard @Alex99 has quietly become a force on the team. He has been effective at both ends of the ice, earning a +32 rating so far and chipping in 48 points as well. It's important to have those types of players who can make a difference without taking any credit." 4. What team are you looking forward to playing in the playoffs? "I look forward to our first round matchup, likely the Mississauga Hounds, because they've been chipping away all season and have added some players who can really help them come playoff time. They have been a tough matchup for us all season and I expect a good series." 5. What is a hobby outside of hockey that your player enjoys? "I enjoy taking some time to myself and decompressing with walks in the park and on the beautiful Nova Scotia shoreline. Experiencing the city that I'm in while I'm here is important to me." 6. With the NHL Playoffs underway, who is your pick to win it all? "I would love for the Leafs to finally turn things around and go all the way but, as a cynical Leafs fan, I don't have much hope."

1. Welcome @Phil and hire new player to the team. What is exciting about the latest recruit? “It’s exciting to have such a veteran on our team to help round out the club. We haven’t really made changes this season and it’s worked well for us, but adding a player like that really helps!” 2. There was also a trade. A S95 1st rounder for S94 4th AND S95 2nd. Is this a good trade building for the future? “I think making moves like that can be pretty underrated. It shows some foresight that can be hard to predict, but we don’t have any reason to believe Lucyxpher isn’t the person that can make it work” 3. Should more have been done to load up for the Cup run? “Although it’s tempting to go out and make a big splash, the team we have right now works really well together and are still improving. ‘If it ain’t broke…’” 4. What team made the biggest moves in this trade deadline? “Ottawa made a pretty big move to help bolster their team, but I feel like the add of Anthony Simmons II to Mississauga was sneaky good. They’re a consistent scorer who can help a team making a push.” 5. What is the weirdest way you have been injured? “Just a couple weeks ago I went to pick up my dog while playing with him (he’s 100 pounds) and he ended up head butting my nose. It still doesn’t feel right.” 6. Which visiting team should I arrange hotel arrangements for? “Someone has to make some special arrangements for Walter Jinn on the Reapers. You know why.”

Miami Press Conference for Week Ending April 21st On Sunday we had a double sim day which saw us play five games. Unfortunately for us, we went 0-5. What changes do you think we could make to avoid that in the future? With the hopes of the playoffs this season dwindling, we're looking toward S94. Are you hopeful Miami can be more successful next season? What are your goals as a player as you progress? What type of player do you want to become? We recently had a change in management, with @ace_five_ joining as the new AGM. What would you like to see out of them? You're player just signed a sponsorship deal with the hockey brand of your choice, who are you choosing? Hockey players tend to be pretty superstitious. Can we implement a column in the standings on portal to show a teams record in the last ten games? This might make it a bit easier to see how certain changes to the team have affected things at a glance. I think it would be pretty helpful for people writing articles to do with standings and power rankings and things like that. You could even make it be the last 14 games so it covers a week of sims.

1. We have rode a six game win streak to a position one point behind Ottawa. What will it take to finally surpass our rivals for the conference lead? "We just have to be consistent. You don't have to win every game of the season to be the champions. Ottawa may be ahead of us in the standings right now but the ultimate goal is the one at the end of the playoffs." 2. Our offence is the best overall unit in the VHLM. Who is the most underrated player in that regard? "Everyone plays a part in the offence on our team. It's important for everyone to get involved on every play, whether that be scoring, passing, hits, takeaways, or defence. If we're able to execute all of the aspects of the game consistently, we will continue to be the best offence. Across the board, I'd have to say Dustin Moore @Maxx is able to be consistent on both sides of the puck but isn't one of the more talked about players on the team so he is able to slip under most team's radar." 3. If you could rebrand and team you wanted, what team would you rebrand and why? "I would want a rebrand of the new PWHL teams. Give them some team names and branding so they can be more recognizable." 4. What player should we buy for the playoff push? "I would like to see us make a splash at the trade deadline. Hopefully adding some good depth players to our already deep team would give us the push we need to win the Cup." 5. Did you watch any of the eclipse today or were you indifferent to it? "Unfortunately I was driving for work at the time so I wasn't able to watch it. I did get a little FOMO seeing everyone outside with their glasses but it was still pretty interesting when it got dark because it felt like a different kind of darkness than what we're used to." 6. What is one locker room tradition your player have kept with since their earliest days? "Always putting my equipment on in the same order. I try not to be too superstitious but that became a habit that's been hard to break."
