JUST A FEW MORE DAYS

Just a few more days…. Just a few more days. That’s it. Just a few more days until the VHLM draft commences and I finally find myself on a team. Who’d have thought? Me, a lowly aspiring ice hockey player from Texas, is finally on track to be drafted to an actual team. I’m one step closer to proving my worth. Yeah, Kevin and Matt and Joba have their boy band… but now it’s my time to shine. 

I don’t know what the world has in store for me. I don’t know what the VHLM has in store for me. But all I know is that no matter where I end up, no matter how fall in the draft I plummet or how high in the draft I go, I’ll be a contributor. I work hard, I play hard. I do everything and more. These words sound like cliches, but they’re all true.

 

Corpus Christi was a tough town growing up. It’s crime-ridden and economically torn to shreds. I had to make my first ice skates. My family could barely afford the cost for me to play hockey… and I persevered. The draft is imminent, and so is my rise to stardom in this league.
