The road to Moscow

Duncan Idaho and Paul Atreides wanted to play together somewhere during their career, and with the two prospects both considered top three picks, this has proven to give some General Managers a scare, what if they would draft one and not be able to get the other one as well? Would that cause their guy to walk? Or would they risk it and hope they could also land the other one?

The Moscow Menace were undergoing a transformation this off-season, long time GM Victor handed over the reigns to the new GM Spartan, and the two of them worked together on a smooth transition for a rebuild. Pieces were moved to Los Angeles to acquire the first overall pick. Leaving both London (third) and Moscow (first) as the prime suspects for landing one of the Dune boys.

It only made sense to check the plans of both these teams and decide together who would get them. In the end, it was London who was more ready to make an attempt to go for the cup, so the third overall was packaged to Moscow in exchange for veteran Mikko Lahtinen , a lower first round pick and a swap of goaltenders. Giving Moscow the option to draft both the House Atreides members and have them unexpectedly, a chance to start of their careers together.
