Change of Number due to Retired Jersey that I didn't know about with the team that I am currently playing for the Prague Phantoms an VHL European Conference Based team. Number changed #28 to #11?

FWIW the retired numbers don't actually mean you can't use the number, it's more of a ceremonial thing. Hell NY has retired #10 for 3 different players.

I do think it funny you were using the only Prague number that was retired mind you haha.

The motto of my family is "if it wasn't for bad luck then we wouldn't have any luck at all."

Sadly this rings true way too often for my liking!! LOL

When I first looked at the retired jersey of the teams I was like Prague is too young so that cannot have many if any and what is the chances of 28 being selected. Then bang Prague has one and it is 28. LOL!!

What’s actually crazy is that Helsinki has more retired than any other team at 21 I believe and none of them are duplicates. So if we were to actually follow the “you can’t use a retired number” thing they’d be down to 78 Available numbers.

That is a lot of numbers considering that Montreal has 15 retired and Toronto has 13. I think they have the most jersey retirements in the NHL.

Highest in all sport I think is the New York Yankees with 21.

I mean in real sports it also actually retires it vs. Here, as I said, it’s mostly just a way of showcasing the players who meant a lot to the organization.
