Gustav 6,415
TUESDAY--Celebration was all over the VHL's favorite Swiss city as the Dynamo managed to avoid matching their own record of three straight last-place finishes (previously set between S69 and S71) with a run of four straight wins that comfortably put them over Vancouver and set the team in 15th place instead. Though it may not seem like much to some, many in the city were thrilled to see their team do something even slightly different, with some taking it as a sign of things yet to come as Davos has had their share of high picks in past drafts and are projected to improve in the future. "It's a good feeling," said local resident Waldo Vogt at the start of the city's planned celebration. "We think our team will be able to rise up at some point, and maybe this is the start of that." Our reporters attempted to catch up with Vogt later on in the night, but when they tracked him down he had lost his pants and was trying and failing to break open a Riga Reign piñata (as the Dynamo played spoiler to Riga's playoff hopes in the season's last game). By the end of the night, local police confirmed that he, along with 267 others, had been taken in on charges of drunken disorderly conduct. Hockey fans worldwide should expect to see the same level of enthusiasm brought to next season's games, as Davos does what they can to continue the move up.
