qripll 501
BOGDAN TRUNOV nationality: RUScity: KURSK, RUS fisrt club: NIGHTINGALE KURSK age: 18 position: C VHLM Clubs: SAN DIEGO MARLINS -> OTTAWA LYNX Draft status: DRAFTED BY WARSAW PREDATORS (22 Overall) THE HISTORY OF YOUNG NIGHTINGALE Current captain of Ottawa Lynx was born in Kursk, Russia, not far from Moscow. At the age of 6 he was sent in Nightingale Kursk by his parents, that was a local hockey club. Since the first day Bogdan was the weakest guy of his generation despite he was the oldest one in the locker room. Training sessions were really difficult for a russian child and after a year of hard skating training he touched stick for the fisrt time. During the first tournament ever the head coach of Nightingale Kursk used promising Trunov as first line center to maintain balance in bottom 6, but after a bad perfomance Bogdan was sent in the 3rd line. Nevertheless, hockey team from Kursk took bronze medals with Trunov's 1+0 in 5 games. Afterwards, there was a shortage of quality defencemen and Bogdan was moved on the blueline. Anyway Trunov was playing well as right defenceman for the next 4 years. Throughout the 3rd season Bogdan was named the best dman of the tournament. Due to consistent and creative plays of Trunov Nightingale Kursk won the first championship on Trunov's birthday. Russian talanted kid showed his soft hands, hockey sense and vision, average defensive skills along ability to score a lot. Then his first head coach was fired due to miscomminication by owner of the club. After a couple of weeks Andrei Tertyshny, his brother was a player of Philladelphia Flyers, took over the team and decided to move russian talent on right wing. In the first line Trunov became pure goalscorer , he led the team with the "А" patch on his chest. Unfortunately, his career almost ended during the common practice. He was hitted hard by his teammate and after a deep medical check-up he had to take a 9 months off due to partially torn of ACL. Without Bogdan Nightingale Kursk couldn't take a playoff spot.Obviously, Trunov missed the only chance to prove himself to the scouts of the best russian hockey clubs. During his hard recovery he decided to move to Nothern America and take a shot in VHLM. Huge experience from all parts of the hockey rink hepls him a lot to play in the center successfully. 401 words Edited July 1, 2021 by qripll dlamb, AJW and JB123 1 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/105225-junior-review-of-trunov-bogdan/ Share on other sites
