Vat 234
This is the first time i'm writing my 3rd season review and I will go through: -First ever VHL season -First even VHL playoff appearance -Vat's math corner -Minecraft addiction -Overall thoughts about the season First ever VHL season After playing in the VHLM for 2 seasons with Mexico first then Mississauga the season after it was time for me to enter the big boy league aka VHL. I already knew that I was not going to be a class player and put up mad amounts of points like I did last season in Mississauga but be a third line grinder with not as much playtime. Not really surprising as they had Patrik Laine and Dan Dan, that choice is very apparent. As I was the lowest rated player on the team at the start of the season there was no surprise that I did not get too many points, I racked up a total of 18 points which I actually am proud of. Games played Goals Assists Points +/- 78 (HSK) 72 8 10 18 8 These stats are going to be a hell for me to take into vat's math corner, but hey As I said earlier I am proud of these stats as I was the lowest rated player at the start of the season and I play in a position with a ton of seriously good competition. Next season my stats will probably look similar but slightly better if not something happens to the RW side of the team so I get more playtime, but as several wise people once said: it's not a race it's a marathon. That quote is very true and I will probably not find much success anytime soon considering the players we have, but i'm not in here for being the best, i'm here for making friends so my next players will be as good as I can make him. Helsinki finished 6th in the league with a total of 80 points Games played Wins Losses OT losses Points Helsinki Titans 72 38 30 4 80 Considering the people we had lost before the season (for example blade) we did decent, we had the offensive firepower but out defense was lacking. That was the position we needed the most "improvement" on. Because of this Rayzor (current GM) decided to trade for Erik Killinger who was in his last season to prepare us for the playoffs. Helsinki Receives: Erik Killinger 79 TOR 4th Toronto Receives: Kate Upton S79 HSK 2nd S80 HSK 3rd This was a big trade preparing us for the upcoming playoffs were we would give Valtteri Vaakainen his last chance to win a cup with us. This whole season has felt like we are playing for Vaak which in my mind we are, he is a Helsinki legend in my eyes and his name even fits well with the teams location. First VHL playoff appearance With us coming in 6th place in the league we were ready to enter the playoffs! I myself did not contribute a lot to the scoring of points in the playoffs but as I said earlier I have tons of competition for the minutes in my spot, BUT I was able to snatch 2 assists in the playoffs! Games played goals assists points +/- 78 (HSK) 5 0 2 2 0 I am actually kinda proud of myself considering I was on 3rd line and we sadly only were able to play 5 games. These stats will mess up my stats like I don't know but big time but at the same time if I would produce more maybe we would've advanced but nothing I can change now. Instead I have to wait until next season where i'm sure that we will do better especially myself. 1 early wildcard exit will not stop me or the rest of the team from bouncing back and showing the people out there who really is going to dominate the VHL, this will be a lesson for us until next season or maybe even several following season as well It feels like both me and the team could've done better than this, a wildcard exit was not what I wanted to do this season but the only thing I can do now is to prepare myself for the next season to be able to become more useful for the team instead of being a 3rd line grinder. I also am pretty frustrated because I really wanted to do something for Vaakainen for his last year which is why i'm inspired to go even further to earn tpe and make myself along with the team better than it was this season. Next season I will and yes I will do better in the playoffs tomake us go farther and be able to go for a cup run. We could've done better than we did but nothing we can do about it now so let's just look forward to the next season! Vat's math corner Oh jeez here we go. The event that I was least looking forward to, me comparing my stats to the season before, with no surprise my stats will go downtown since I transferred from the VHLM to the VHL but here we go! regular season stats: Games played Goals assists points +/- 77 (MIS) 72 41 54 95 58 games played goals assists points +/- 78 (HSK) 72 8 10 18 8 Playoff stats: Games played Goals assists points +/- 77 (MIS) 15 9 10 19 -4 Games played goals assists points +/- 78 (HSK) 5 0 2 2 0 Comparing time! Regular season: Goals last season: 41 Goals this season: 8 %: 80% decrease from last season Assists last season: 54 assists this season: 10 %: 81% decrease from last season points last season: 95 points this season: 18 %: 81% decrease from last season +/- last season: 58 +/- this season: 8 %: 86% decrease from last season Games played last season: 72 games played this season: 72 %: 0% increase from last season Playoffs: Goals last season: 9 Goals this season: 0 %: 100% decrease from last season assists last season: 10 assists this season: 2 %: 80% decrease from last season points last season: 19 points this season: 2 %: 89% decrease from last season +/- last season: -4 +/- this season:0 %: 100% increase from last season Games played last season: 15 Games played this season: 5 %:66.66666....... decrease from last season phew now we have that done. As you can easily see that this looks horrendous but next season! then the stats will hopefully go up again and they won't look like a garbage truck. Overall thoughts about the season Now I will go over my general thoughts about the season that has gone. I was really excited to play my first year in the VHL and especially in the Titans jersey. I am thankful for them drafting me where they did and I next season I will do better than I did in this one, I am stoked to play here for 2 more years and even more if I get the chance. Although the season could've gone better for both me and the team I am still happy about finishing my first year. I cannot wait until next season when I will be able to prove to everyone that I am not a bust but a well worth draft pick. Until next seasons end, see ya! 1242 words claiming for week ending 6/4 and 18/6 Edited July 18, 2021 by Vat Phil and Ledge 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/105233-s3-review-gustislav-nasherov/ Share on other sites
jRuutu 2,477
8.5/10 I like the research and your comments regarding your season, an interesting read! However, I think the article is a bit hard to read. For example, the gif could be in a different place or not there at all. Also, your comments regarding HSK/TOR trade are hard to read against the black background. Spacing/formatting could be better overall. Nice article still! Phil 5,130
Review: This was a great overview of your rookie campaign with the context of the team’s performance to boot. You kept the presentation flowing with gifs, stat lines/comparisons, even an informal table of contents. The layout could have been prettier but overall a lot of work and thought went into this spot. Nicely done @Vat:cheers: Vat 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/105233-s3-review-gustislav-nasherov/#findComment-861628 Share on other sites
