Toronto could get another NHL team and the biggest hockey arena ever

After a few weeks of downtime and reflecting on what could have been, Tom Eagles, is back on the ice and training with Team Merc for the upcoming World Cup of Hockey.

Tom is hoping to be able to help the Mercs capture gold as they prepare to battle in the tough tournament. The Mercs roster is looking really good and they should be one of the favorites to at minimum make the medal rounds.

"It will be my first time in the World Cup as a player, I watched many games when my dad played and its great to be able to represent on the world stage " Tom said " This tournament is a great kick-start to my off-season training and getting some meaningful games in before our actual season starts will be great as I will get to test out some things I have been working on"

Eagles, coming off a bad season, is hoping to take his game to the next level for Calgary in the upcoming season. Last season, Eagles, stumbled out of the block and was never able to recover. He put up stats that were below his sophomore season and these were stats that were definitely unacceptable to him.

" I just never got going and while that didn't matter to much in the regular season as we were confident in securing a playoff spot, it did matter in the playoff run where I was unable to help the team like I wanted " Tom said " That Seattle comeback really stung and I can't let that happen again. I will be working hard to make sure that I can improve my game and at the same time improve our team"

Calgary is expecting some FA departures in the off-season and the team will need to look at bringing some new faces in if they want to compete in the playoffs next year. While the GM and AGM are keeping their plans close to their chests. Rumours are that they will be looking at bringing in some forward depth and a player to solidify their blue line.

The team expects to keep most of the core from last season in order to build on what they have been building over the last few seasons. There is lots of confidence within the Wrangler organization that the core can lead them to the promised land.

" I think we are in good shape as a team, we have the main players we want and they are all very eager to get better and bring back the cup to Calgary" Tom said " I am excited to be here and try to help lead this team next season. I think we are just a few depth pieces away and I know that management is working hard on that end to help bolster the team for next season. The team even after our disappointing collapse is in great spirits heading into next season, we learned our lesson"

The players and fans are excited to see what's in store for the Wranglers and how they work on improving the team.

Solid article. You offered interesting comments regarding your season and the future of Calgary, as an ''outsider'' - always cool to read those! The article is easy to read. The ''flow'' of the article is smooth. The quotes fit in really well. No complaints from me!

Great job! formatting is great and the article flows effortlessly and is a super good read.  I really like the father son dynamic as well. Nothing noteworthy to improve, Maybe indent your paragraphs but it doesn't really matter as that is just nit picking lol.
