Mason Jones is a twenty-two year old born and developed in the city of Mississauga. At the young age of six he began watching Hockey alongside his brother. His brother cheered for Toronto and Mason chose to be different, taking a liking to New Jersey because their logo was a 'J' and it reminded him of his last name. Mason began writing his name with the New Jersey 'J' until his teachers told him of the devil influence in the lettering and asked him not to do it anymore.

Mason took a liking to the goalie position, having watched Martin Brodeur. Though he was never the biggest person in his class and rarely made saves when playing street hockey with his friends. One day some local kids wanted to join in their game and asked to play goalie. Mason was uncomfortable playing another position but allowed the new kids to try it. This is when Mason learned he had a knack for scoring goals and he received a lot more praise from his peers in his new role.

Mason learned how to skate as a forward, using his previous experience as a goalie to teach his friend JP how to be better at a defensive role.

Mason didn't have the height advantage for long on his younger friend. As JP turned ten he was already taller then Mason. There were times as they grew up that Mason had wished he was as tall as JP, knowing that most successful goalies were tall and wondered if he could've played goalie if he was just a few inches taller.

Mason played four years of hockey in his highschool and was named the captain of his High School hockey team in his final year. His coaches and fellow teammates always praised him on his poise in high pressure situations and his determination to the sport. He might've not been the best on his team but he always showed up with a positive attitude and the desire to win.

After his highschool playing career he wasn't offered a spot on any minor league teams but never stopped training. Playing in a beer league with his older Cousins team. He made it clear after two year in the league that he was the best and was destined for more.

He saw that there were tryouts for the Victory Hockey League and immediately took an interest in the league, thinking this would be the competition he was looking for and give him the stage for him to showcase his skills.

He accepted a spot in the Steel organization during the Junior Showcase Tournament. He chose the jersey number 43 as it was the number he used in sports games and in High school. Mason put in enough effort and was vocal enough to be named the Captain of the Junior team.
