Another season in the books, another good amount of regular season success followed by a series win in the playoffs. Obviously, Warsaw didn't have the level of playoff success I wanted - but it was clear from the get-go, even after our excellent upturn following our change in goalie - that this season wasn't going to be as straight-forward a path to the championship as the last. And although there were some aspects of this season to be happy about, Aloe's team ultimately came up short.

So what's the next move? With plenty of aging players on Warsaw and Aloe likely to continue to be a top-15ish player in the league next season (her 7th), I'm going to explore free agency. At this point, I wouldn't expect most teams to take another swipe at Dear, provided I've had two attempts at free agency without actually leaving the Predators. But with Warsaw's goalie situation even more fraught than before and my player not getting any younger, I think it's time for a change of scenery. My intention, of course, is to get Dear on a team that can contend next season. What the market looks like for Dear after this contract expires is yet to be seen - after all, I don't think Dear will be quite as high in applied TPE next season (at least at the start) as she was this time around. Fingers crossed there's some interest (when it's time to start those discussions)?
