VHL theme week

VHL theme week - The life after the VHL is well planned out for Gustislav Nasherov with a nostalgic trip to the past.

Early after retirement - Gustislav Nasherov retires and gets his jersey hung up in an arena that knows his name, talks about his name and remembers his name. The jersey ceremony is something to remember, the arena is filled with fans wanting to say one last goodbye to the RW legend Gustislav Nasherov. After the ceremony Nasherov goes back to his house in Rögle and takes time to think and appreciate his long and eventful career. The day he got drafted. The day he signed his first contract. The day he scored his first goal. But what he most remembers is the day he got to lift the cup. His lifelong dream became true at that moment and nothing could compare to the feeling of having lifted a cup above your head with thousands of people chanting your name.

A reasonable time after retirement - Nasherov has started to enjoy the simpler things in life more. He goes fishing every now and then hoping to catch a fish. He visits old teammates and catches up on what they have been doing since they last met. As he is very fond of cooking his own food he started to take cooking classes by world class chefs, after having learned how to make some absolutely delicious food he started sharing the food with friends and family. They think that the dish is delicious and Nasherov is delighted. Not only has Nasherov started to take cooking classes, he has also started trying to get into the smaller and less known leagues of the world. Sometimes he takes trips to Germany to see how they play hockey there compared to the VHL, sometimes he goes to Switzerland to watch hockey and taste their delicious cheese. He also starts to watch tons of SHL games. Especially Rögle games. He really enjoys watching them as he has been doing that ever since he was a little boy. But no matter how many times he goes there he is still as excited as the first, it never gets tiring and he can do it all year long if he could've been able to.

1-2 years after retirement - After having spent more than a year in retirement and traveling around the world watching hockey games he gets a strange letter sent to his house. After opening the letter he became ecstatic! He had been offered a job by the Helsinki Titans, as a scout. Being so happy about it he replied instantly. A week later he was on a plane to Helsinki. Sitting on the plane he remembers how it felt the first time he was traveling there. Drafted 12th overall and super excited to play, when he arrives in Helsinki he is greeted with tons and tons of fans chanting his name. And when he heard that, he knew. He was where he belonged and nothing could bring Helsinki and Gustislav Nasherov apart.

Cool article, I liked how you had sectioned everything off, I would like to see you go more freeroam with your text and not be in those time marks. I think you could have made this seem like a big article on news, about career plans and not VHL theme week. Great work and fun read, didn't get boring one bit.

8.5/10

Review:  Fun read.  Thought the three phases of retirement angle was a nice tough culminating in getting back into the sport himself as a participant (scout) and not just a spectator. 8/10
