FrostBeard 2,061
End of the season recap Bratislava Watchmen So, the regular season is done and I have to say, it is quite exciting to be back in the GM seat. I really missed that and as I have a lot of free time in between all the chaos going on, I can dedicate myself to being more active than ever. Bratislava. The team I have fallen in love with. Even though we don’t have the most active Locker room, we have an amazing group of characters and people who just shine in every conversation we have. Team finished pretty strong and managed to get 3rd place in the league with only 1 point being the difference to the 2nd place. For our inaugural season, I feel that is an acceptable result and I am most happy to see the progress the team has made. Individually, we have quite a few great players who have been shining on ice every game. Jakub Brozik, Donny Carter and Jlloyoid Blloyoiderson have been brilliant on the forward end. All in the Top 20 in the league. Really good result. Logain Ablar, who started off fairly slowly picked up his game in the latter part of the season and finished almost PPG. To me, the fact that Jannik Nylen was so dominant as the defenceman was not really surprising, he is an elite level player that we selected as the 1st round pick in the draft. Probably the most interesting thing was the goalie rotations we did at the start of the season. However, it was clear that at one point, Alex Parise was a much more dominant goaltender. We switched to him as our main goaltender which resulted in a huge drop in wins and our team fell out of the Top 4. Went to Orion D H Chiester IX and played him the majority of the games at the end of the season and even though his individual results weren’t always the best, we somehow managed to win more games. Probably will run goalie rotations again in the playoffs! Every player on the Watchmen squad was extremely influential and I am quite happy to see these results. Our season however was a bit weird. We started our season fairly strong with the first 10 games or so but then we fell off and had to climb up again the standings. I am sure that it actually fuelled our drive and passion for the game as none of us wanted to be the team that doesn’t make the playoffs. One thing I always wanted to do was a daily recap for the game simulations. I had previously done that when I was running VSN for WJC when after each sim day, we had an article going out talking about games, teams and standings. For Bratislava, I have done daily recaps where I talk about each game, our dominating victories and sadly, our devastating losses. For those interested in those, I have a Google doc either posted in History channel in our Discord LR or you can just ask me for that Google doc link! Overall, I am pretty excited for the playoffs. I know that our team gets better with each of the sims, with each opportunity to gain TPE. We have only one capped player at 400 TPE. I know that we have the potential to win it all right here and right now. Greg_Di 1,028
Review: Great to see articles like this and especially from a GM. I haven't really followed the E as much as I would like so it's great to read about how Bratislava has done in the E and an insider perspective. Great to also see your mindset about the goalie situation and shows the challenges and decisions GM's face while trying to lead their team to victory. Can't really find any way to improve this, maybe throw in a picture but that's just nitpicking. One typo fuelled should be fueled but that doesn't change my review score. 10/10!
