Season S81 has started, at least for Marcel, the younger of the Janser brothers. The VHLE is still in hibernation mode due to an outbreak of the Tansanian Killer Ant Flu and the quarantine connected with it.

Marcel's Halifax 21st played two games and went 1-1 on wins.

The first match was against acting Founder's Cup holder Ottawa Lynx. The latter had the better of the 21st, but only after a hard fought battle and going into OT. Halifax was first to score on a power play goal from Volchenko (Leblanc/Janser). However, Ottawa countered with three unanswered goals. Halifax came back with yet another successful power play, this time Crumbs (McMuffin, Staal) found the back of the net. Unfortunately, less than two and a half minutes later, the Lynx reinstated the two goal lead. In the third period only the Nova Scotians scored in the shape of a Brandini double strike, both time assisted by the Hungarian AL. Therefore the game went into sudden death. Both teams had four opportunities to score, but luck was on last season's Champion's side and after less than five minutes into OT the decision fell in Ottawa's favour. The three stars were awarded to Lajeunesse (3g/0a), Live (0g/3a) and Brandini (2g/0a). Halifax' McGleis was a wall (.898) while Nu (0.750) had more resemblance to a sieve. The power play of Marcel's team was very efficient (2/6) and so was the box play (6/7).

Marcel was recorded with 0g, 1a, -3, 2PIM (Interference, no goal scored against), 4sb (second of the team)  and 24:46 TOI (third of the team)

The second match was against the Miami Marauders and the 21st won this encounter 4-3. The Floridan hit the ground running and scored two consecutive goal but Brandini (Leblanc, AL) decreased Miami's lead by one before the end of the period. In the second, only McMuffin (Janser) was succesfull and therefore it was a tied game into the third. Miami was able to score first but Leblanc (AL, Crumb) and McMuffin (Janser) were able to turn the match around. McMuffin (2g/0a), Leblanc (1g/1a) and Brandini (1g/0a) were in the limelight that night. McGleis (.909) had Dahl's (.882) number and the special teams were not as good as in the previous match with the power play 0/5 and the penalty kill 2/3.

Marcel logged 0g, 2a, +1 and 3 hits (first of the team)

After two matches played Marcel's stats are as follows:

2gp, 0g, 3a, 3pts, -2, 2 PIM, 4 hits, 5sb

We will revert with news on the Jansers in due course.
