The render effects are a bit strange on the right side, the blending could use improvement, and the text doesn't really stand out enough. I do like a good amount of the stock work and I think you have a good idea here, it just needed maybe 5-10 minutes of more work, along with maybe a gradient map for blending. I like that you isolated the color on the jersey, it works with this style.
