Nepto 11
Maksim Yakolevsky, the Season 74 33rd overall pick, has reached his final season in the VHL, with his mandatory retirement coming up as the season ends. It has to be said that Yakolevsky had not been particulary succesful during his career. As a late bloomer it would take him 3 seasons with four different teams in the VHLM to reach the big league, where his rights were acquired by the London United a couple seasons prior. He barely saw any ice-time during his "rookie" season as was shipped off the following season, as Londons cap became tighter with the acquisition of difference makers. Instead, Yakolevsky found a new home in DC with the Dragons, which he would not leave for the remainder of his career. He would help the Dragons make the playoffs in 3 out of his 5 total seasons there, but unfortunately they never were able to make it all the way. "It has been a long career, hasn't it? To be honest, its about time that I hang them up for good. When I was growing up, all I could think of was hockey, I truly wanted to become a star that could compete with the best of them. Now after several years of the grind that is professional hockey, I have to say that all that passion is gone. At some point you are just dragging yourself through week by week. Now, I dont want to complain. I made a nice fortune over the years by "just playing", but in the end of the day it turned my hobby into my job and I grew to dislike it. You won't see myself back in the scene, at least for the foreseeable future."
