FrostBeard 2,049
Alrighty, here we go... My player, Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms went into the VHL draft a season ago with a simple assumption - I am gonna play only for teams that will scout me. The list was short so I accepted my faith as a player who is going to be drafted in a first round, but not really near the top. Sadly, that didn't happen as I was drafted 2nd Overall by Helsinki and that really hurt me because I like GM Rayz so much, in the end had to request a trade because I promised myself to do so. Got traded to Seattle. This was not a shocker - I expected GM Bana to trade for me, after all, I had pretty much a strong history with him and Bears, plus I knew that my talents could be used in Seattle quite a lot! I also thought that maybe Moscow or Riga would try their luck but don't really know if that happened or not. Am I happy to be in Seattle? Of course, Seattle is probably the single greatest franchise in the last 15 seasons. So many brilliant players and dominant performances, so many great memories and sad departures. For me, Seattle honestly feels like home, there are other teams that felt like that for a while - Malmo, when I was a GM and Davos when MJF played there. Probably an interesting thing that no other team really (Dragons were super close though) could get my heart fighting for them on and off the ice. In the end, I think it is about a great GM and great teammates and Seattle has both, always. Not sure how my career is going to turn out, have a build so many GMs wouldn't touch cause they lack interest in having fun and actually enjoying the hockey simulation part of the league.
