It appears that I haven’t done one of these in a while. Life is getting in the way it seems. When I first joined the VHL, I didn’t want to be one of those welfare button pushers. Now that I’m in my final season with Lose, I’ve become what I was trying to avoid. So let's try to avoid that for a while by doing one of these posts.

The VHLM is a different field this season. With the shakeups and having a solid draft, I feel as if the Mexico City Kings are going to be a contender this season. I’ve been working with my AGM Vice and looking at the current roster and I’m feeling confident again. When I first joined the VHLM, I didn’t have the best of starts. I was given a few pieces to work with and a weak draft in the future. Now that I’m past those roadblocks I felt as if I am gaining confidence. Getting waivers is always an issue though. While we had a big push for waivers, we didn’t get many. This may hurt down the line but I feel that the current roster can fight with the big guns.

Shifting over to the VHL and Lose is finally cooling off after a RED hot season last season. After taking home 4 trophies in the award show, Lose wanted to do a repeat of that success this season. Right now it seems that he is going back to the slower start to the season that he is used to in Riga. Was that a one-hit-wonder season for Lose?

“Last season was something special for me. A new home and new teammates sparked a lot in me. I was very motivated and wanted to prove my worth when they [Seattle] signed me in free agency. I think management knew that too so I was given a lot of chances to do very well on the team. I took that chance and I ran with it. I’m very happy with my performance during the regular season. Winning 4 different trophies is very nice too. I wish that transferred into the playoffs, but that will come in time.”

“This season is very different. I’m not getting any younger. This league demands a lot from you. You need to be at the top of your game. Right now I feel as if my time in the league is running down. I can’t keep up as much as I used to. Last season was motivation and adrenaline and this season it seems to have worn off. I still want to help the team out and give it my all. I won’t give up on this squad. At the end of the season though, I will have to take a look at myself and consider if this is it for me. If this is my last season, I want to go out on a high note.”
