We all know the meta and scoring is just going to go up. The league is working on it and I don’t want to poke anyone, I know it’s a topic who can cause a lot of reaction, but I need some tpe and I don’t have another idea.

So 4 players in the league are heading toward having a phenomenal season of 140 points and more and another 3 are really close. Let's analyze those 7 players and see if they are meta and what it’s doing. The First one is Dan Dan 8 points less then his career high and he just played 38 games out of 72. He is not the typical meta build he has 73 tpa in passing who is a lot compared to other players who are completely meta.

The second one Taro Tsujimoto is the second one, he has 69 tpa in passing similar build to Dan Dan Tsujimoto has a more consistent history in terms of points in the past season but they are really similar with some differences here and there.

The third one the quote on quote perfect meta build Jerome Reinhart. All three of them have 99 in scoring and Defense with that they also have strengths, skating and puck handling in the 90 or so. Dan and Tsujimoto have more tpa in passing but don't have a lot more assists than Reinhart.

Scoring first players is doing 100% better than passing first player no question. But the 40 passing and 99 scoring/defense is that really the most effective form, what that built his doing his shot every time they have a chance with Jerome Reinhart going to hit 700 shots again this season or really close. A player like Tsujimoto with 69 tpa in passing is going to hit in the high 500 low 600 shot range this season ( that’s if they keep shooting like they did in the first half of the season).

My question is do we really know the meta?

One of the biggest strengths of it as well, is the cap efficiency. The meta build is very, very cheap on TPE = cheap on cap = stacked team. As has been shown in the test sims, if you give everyone on Vancouver 90 passing. They are better than current Vancouver. But they are also miles over the cap. At some point TPE is just good, for that single player in a vacuum. But for the team, having a bunch of super efficient ~500 TPE players is just so much more efficient. So long as they all go meta, with a few higher passing Dmen thrown in for good measure. And by higher I mean like 70/99 instead of 40/99. Galante Nilsson isn't full meta by any stretch of the imagination, but he sure is reaping the benefits of being the only player who actually passes on a line with 4 meta players, most of the time.
