Game 207 Recap

2 contenders fought ferociously in this fervent fiesta. Ottawa seemed to have run away with the game scoring 4-unanswered goals but a third period comeback and a stalemate of an overtime lead to a dramatic 6-6 game going into the shootout.

Both teams dominated on the Power Play, with a total of 8 PPG in this game. Both teams should look to ride this special teams momentum.

Special performance from Daniel McGleis who came in relief and made 36 saves before a disappointing shootout loss.

Game 206 Recap

Mississauga beat Philadelphia.

The seemingly unbeatable Reapers fell to the Hounds in a game where they more than doubled the Hounds shot total.

Poor discipline lead to 3 Hounds PPG, which was all they needed to beat out the Reapers today.

The Hounds charge was lead by Michel Hebert, who was in on all 3 Hounds goals, all coming on the Power Play.

Although the Reapers should probably chalk this up to a fluke, they should try to stay out of the box, regardless of the standings position of their opponent.

Game 201 Recap:

In this game, we have the Ottawa Lynx taking on the Mexico City Kings, a race to the playoffs for both of these teams. The first period was fill with scoring, with 2 goals a piece from each team. For the Mexico City Kings, Ryuji Sakamoto scored his 13th of the season on the powerplay, and Jason Argos scored his 15th of the season, also on the powerplay. On the opposite side of the ice for the Ottawa Lynx, James Marino scored his 14th of the season on the powerplay and Jordan Messier scored his 5th of the season. There were no goals in the second period. Heading into the third, we had another 2 goals from both teams. The Lynx scored the first two goals, putting themselves up 4-2, with goals scored by Mikayev Ivanovitch who scored his 30th of the season and James Marino who scored his 15th of the season and second of the game. However, the Kings were not out of it yet, with two quick goals from Matt Rooster and Hasbulla Magomedov to tie up the score at 4 heading into overtime. It didn't take very long for Mexico City's very own Calen McKay to put home the dagger with his 23rd of the season. I want to give a quick shoutout to Mikayev Ivanovitch for scoring his 30th goal of the season, congratulations!

Game 211 Recap:

Another race to the playoffs in this game, as the Saskatoon Wild took on the Las Vegas Aces. The game started off pretty slow, with only one goal in the first period going to Aces player PJ Daniels who scored his 7th of the season on the powerplay. Heading into the second though, the flood gates started to open as Kyou Fujibayashi scored his 12th of the season to tie the score at 1. Moments later, Al Land scored his 11th of the season to put the Aces back in the lead 2-1. However, there seemed to be an answer as Minou Lambert scored his 29th of the season to even the score at 2 heading into the third. The third period was wild with lots of scoring, as both teams were able to score two a piece to head into overtime tied at 4. For the Aces, Anton Bielas scored his 12th of the season and Jack Quill his 18th of the season. For the side of the Wild, Jack Quill found his 18th of the season and the great jr found his 21st of the season. There were no goals in overtime and we head to the shootout! There were lots of goals in the shootout, but in the 6th round of the shootout, Jack Quill the hero found the back of the net and won the game for the Saskatoon Wild 5-4 in a shootout! I want to give a special shoutout to Jack Quill for scoring a very crucial goal in the 2nd period and also winning the game for his team in the shootout! Congratulations!

Game 205 Recap:

If you're looking for a game that showed it's domination then this is where it's at. The Miami Marauders destroyed the Halifax 21st with a final score of 5-1.  Halifax 21st had more shots but they couldn't capitalize on the opportunities. Tyler Smith Jr. with 2 goals in the game meanwhile Igor Molotov and Hockey Mann both had 2 assists to cruise to victory.  Jay Saucey also had an incredible performance. He had 34 saves from 35 shots. Meaning, he only let 1 in from all of those attempts. The game started with a Marauders rampage but ended in a huge fight. Nevertheless, it just keeps getting worse for Halifax 21st while the Marauders look to clinch a playoff berth. The VHLM standings are getting tighter as we move closer and closer to the playoffs and if the Marauders want to be on par with the best they have to show performances like this all night to do so.
