We are officially past the halfway point in the season and the Houston Bulls are in full stride and looking like a serious contender for the Founder's Cup this season. A big part of Houston's success this season is Swedish sensation Scotty Sundin who the Bulls took first overall in the VHLM Dispersal Draft this past offseason. After playing in the latter half of the season with San Diego last season, he has really come into his own while playing deep in the heart of Texas this season. He has formed chemistry with his teammates and is playing a confident and exciting brand of hockey.

Through 43 games, Sundin has compiled 37 goals and 36 assists for 73 total points. He is ranked first in the entire league with a plus-41 and ranks amongst the top 10 in most offensive categories. Sundin has attributed a lot of his success this season to his teammates, particularly Hammer Voss, Phoebe Bridgers, and AirRig GoodBrandSon.  The Bulls did however his a rut as of late, but they have regained their dominant ways once again, largely thanks to newcomer Ivan Retoslav, who was acquired via trade last week. Despite the ongoing rumors swirling about the Russian doping scandal in the VHLM, Retoslav has proven to be a huge shot in the arm for Houston during his short time with the team.

When asked about his future beyond this season, Sundin has shown a ton of enthusiasm about the upcoming VHL Entry Draft. He has went on the record to say he is happy to play for any team that will have him. When asked if he would be interested in playing overseas in Europe in the VHLE he respectfully has stated he wishes to go directly to the VHL pro league. He wants to compete at the highest level and make an impact, and any VHL club that will allow him to do that he is all for playing on. Sundin says it is an honour and a privilege to play hockey for a living, regardless of which league it is in. Sundin's agent said some teams have already begun interviewing his player to gauge interest and learn more about him heading into the draft. It's a competitive draft class heading into this offseason, so it should be fun to see where Sundin lands when the big night finally arrives.

With only a couple weeks left in the regular season, Sundin has tried to remain focused on the task at hand and not think too far into the future. For the time being, he wants to bring a Founder's Cup to the Bulls and celebrate this offseason with all the Bulls' fans. Until then though, it's business as per usual. The Bulls still have a lot to prove as they still trail the Philadelphia Reapers in the overall standings, plus the Saskatoon Wild are proving to be a real threat in the Western Conference as well. We will all be watching and routing for the Bulls down the stretch as they compete for the Founder's Cup!
