The Nighthawks ended up on the wrong side of a very close series between Moscow. Both teams were pretty evenly matched on paper, and it took all 5 games with overtime in game 5 to finally seal the deal for the Menace. Moscow will go on to play in the semi final, while Malmo try and keep their heads high going into the off-season. “We played really well. But Moscow we’re stride for stride with us the whole way through, and they earned it.” Said Telker after the OTL in game 5. Malmo still have plenty of good young players to remain competitive next year, with some of their players still wanting another cup before retirement. The main hurdle Dom will face is looking for a new starting goalie, with Tretiak being forever into retirement. Despite that, the Hawks still have lots of hockey left to play with this core group!
