Landon Wolanin, growing up without a local reputable hockey league had to find other ways to pursue his VHL aspirations. He frequented the local adult league, spending his childhood skating in circles around the rink while the adults played. As he grew, the adults began to include him slowly into the games, and it turned out he had a real knack for hockey. The adults would take turns running drills for him and the other children, and Landon was far and above the best of the children. This never inflated his ego though, and he worked hard to help his peers grow as players. In his childhood hockey playing career he dominated offensively and found himself running out of competition to challenge him.

Fortunately, simply getting ice time and having the puck on his stick allowed him to grow as a player. The adults helped him put together a highlight pack to send to VHLM scouts. He had been on their radar for a few years before his draft and people were generally very excited to see what would happen with this strange prospect. It is always hard to know how a player will adjust to a new home and a new level of competition, but scouts hoped that Landon would thrive in a new environment.

One of the most valuable assets Landon brought to the VHLM was his good pal Ducky. Ducky has been studying to be a player agent, reporter and overall media superstar. Together they debrief nearly every week and talk about the goings on of the VHLM and specifically how it affects Landon. Having this friend to talk to has helped Landon to grow not only his game, but his maturity as a person.

Landon may have entered the VHLM draft a boy from a collection of random islands, but he has grown into a man, a great hockey player, and an asset to whatever team he is on. He is currently getting ready for his VHLE and VHL Drafts, working to being a more complete player, and find his spot in an ever competitive environment.

From skating around the local rink to tearing it up in the VHLM as a rookie, Landon Wolanin has never failed to surprise and we should continue to expect him to surprise us for the rest of his hopefully long career. Make sure to keep your eyes on Landon Wolanin’s career everyone!
